Little Caesar's Bowl & NBA Scores & NBA Quick Dribbles w/ Dwayne Wade & Cleveland Cavs: 12/27 - Vol. 298 - 2nd Edition

We are in one place with our hearts on one accord, declaring Your goodness and Your mercy, it endures forever more.  With our hands lifted high we're yielded vessels to be used; let Your glory be revealed in this place and show us Your glory, show us Your glory Lord!!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard it the last time you heard it….I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  It’s Game Time!

Central Michigan comes out on
top in the Little Caesar's Bowl
over Western Kentucky
Pizza! Pizza!  The Little Caesar’s Bowl kicked off last night on the Grid Iron as Western Kentucky of the Sunbelt Conference battled with Central Michigan of the MAC Conference and Central Michigan struck first with a TD, but Western Kentucky said anything you can do I can do better and scored a TD less than 2 minutes later and by half-time, Central Michigan was holding a 17-14 lead.  In the 2nd half, each team would score one touchdown and with a 4th and 2 and 51 seconds left in the game, Western Kentucky opted to go for it versus kick a field goal to potentially send the game in overtime and the pass play was incomplete and Central Michigan held on to get the 24-21 win as Ryan Radcliff passed for 253 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s.

Josh Smith celebrates the double
OT win over the Pistons
After the NBA Christmas Day Extravaganza, the National Basketball Association was back last night with a plethora of games as the Cleveland Cavaliers sneak past the Washington Wizards 87-84 with 26 points from Kyrie Irving, the defending champs Miami Heat kept the Charlotte Bobcats stuck on 7 wins 105-92 as Dwayne Wade poured in 29 points, the New Orleans Hornets end their losing streak by tripping up my home city Orlando Magic 97-94 with 29 points from Robin Lopez, while the Detroit Pistons needed double overtime but came up a weee bit short against the Atlanta Hawks 126-119 with 31 basket filling points from Josh Smith, the Brooklyn Nets lost their 3rd in a row to the Milwaukee Bucks 108-93 as Brandon Jennings notched 25 points and the developing rivalry between the Indiana  Pacers and the Chicago Bulls was postponed due to a snowstorm.  Make sure you keep it locked to hear Round 2 scores in the 2nd Segment.

A shooting coaching
is helping D-Wade
shoot a blistering
61% over the past
eight games
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Dwyane Wade's career-high shooting percentage and blistering 61 percent clip over his past eight games can't all be attributed to a little extra coaching, but it certainly hasn't hurt as the Heat's second leading scorer admitted he has been working with a shooting coach during the season and Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao will missed his fourth straight game last night against the Washington Wizards because of a bruised right knee and the Cavs claimed guard Shaun Livingston off of waivers from Washington and they made room on their roster by the Cavs waiving guard Donald Sloan, who had appeared in 20 games for Cleveland this season.

J. R. Smith drains the game winning
buzzing beating shot over the Suns
For your NBA scores Round 2 style, the Philadelphia 76ers roll past the Memphis Grizzlies 99-89 as Dorell Wright scored a season high of 28 points, the beard was on fire as James Harden lite up the scoreboard for 30 points as the Houston Rockets get past the Minnesota Timberwolves 87-84, the Toronto Raptors were contained, clobbered and crushed, Alliteration, I Love It, by the San Antonio Spurs 100-80 as Tim Duncan lead all scorers with a measly 15 points, Kobe Bryant’s 40 points were not enough as my LA Lakers were blasted by the Denver Nuggets 126-114 as Corey Brewer scored 27 points, while the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Utah Jazz 94-83 as Stephen Curry produced 23 points, the New York Knicks were destined for a loss but J. New team = 12th selection
the Pro Bowl
For your NFL Quick Hits, a grand jury in Texas has formally indicted Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent on one count of intoxication manslaughter as Brent was charged in connection with a December 8 crash that killed his friend and Cowboys practice squad member Jerry Brown, twelve is the magic number as Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and cornerback Champ Bailey each have been selected to the AFC Pro Bowl team for the 12th time each, concerned about preserving his squeaky-clean reputation as a team player, Tim Tebow lashed out at critics Wednesday, insisting he never told coach Rex Ryan he wanted out of the New York Jets' Wildcat package and stated “For people to not know the situation and to bash your character and say you're a phony, you're a fake and you're a hypocrite, I think that's what's disappointing and that's what's frustrating. It's a football game. That's one thing, if you're good or bad at football, but your character and integrity, that's who you are as a man and that's a lot more important”, the Philadelphia Eagles have placed quarterback Nick Foles on injured reserve with a broken hand and signed defensive tackle Antonio Dixon to a two-year contract, the Arizona Cardinals will give Brian Hoyer his first NFL start, less than three weeks after the team claimed him off of waivers from Pittsburgh, and finally, Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams has donated one of his pickup trucks to make the holidays happier for two Marine Corps veterans as Williams had his 2009 Ford F-250 delivered to Sgt. Justin Hunter and his wife, Staff Sgt. Cherie Hunter of Jacksonville, NC last weekend and they were chosen from a list provided by North Carolina-based Purple Heart Homes….way to go Mario and it’s about time you notable play since signing that $100 million contract…..huh?!

a win
I hoped that everyone had a Very Merry Christmas as we paused to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  The National Basketball Association was featured as usual on Christmas Day as The Association featured five Christmas Day games in their Christmas Day uniforms and players, coaches and referees wore green ribbons in tribute to the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School as the first game pitted the Boston Celtics against the Brooklyn Nets and this game was a physical one as four technical fouls were called in the 4th quarter alone, but the Celtics Showed Up and they Showed Out as they literally spanked the Nets 93-76 as Rajon Rondo lead all scorers with 19 points and Paul Pierce passed out 10 dimes, the 2nd game featured my LA Lakers against the current Big Apple Kings in the New York Knicks with Steve Nash running point and handed out 11 assists as Christmas gifts and Kobe Bryant did his part by lighting up the score board with 34 points as the Lakers knock off the Knicks 100-94 and the Lakers win their 5th consecutive game, the 3rd game witnessed a re-match of the 2012 Finals as the OKC Thunder took their talents to South Beach to battle the defending champs in the Miami Heat and the Heat got off to a fast start and relinquished the lead in the 3rd quarter however comma they managed to hold for the 103-97 win as LeBron James produced 29 points, while in the 4th game, the Houston Rockets traveled to the Windy City and simply demolished, simply dismantled and simply disenfranchised, Alliteration, I Love It, the Chicago Bulls 120-97 as James Harden poured in 26 points, Omer Asik had 18 glass grabbling rebounds and Jeremy Lin gave away 11 Christmas gifts wrapped up as assists and the final game of the NBA Christmas Day Extravaganza featured the Denver Nuggets mining for gold against the Lob City Clippers as the Clippers were the ones to actually strike gold as they blasted the Nuggets 112-100 with 22 points from Jamal Crawford.
