MLB scores, Alistair Overeem apologizes, James Harden, Seth Greenberg: 4/24, Vol. 127, 2nd Edition

For your scores in Major League Baseball, the New York Yankees surpassed the Texas Rangers 7-4 with a homerun from A-Rod, the San Francisco Giants pasted the New York Mets 6-1 in the first match up of the day as Tim Lincecum notched his first win, the Toronto Blue Jays muscled past the Kansas City Royals 4-1as the Royal lose their 11th straight game, the Colorado Rockies & the Pittsburgh Pirates was postponed, the Boston Red Sox got back into the win column by beating the Minnesota Twins 6-5 with 2 homeruns from Cody Ross and in the double header, the San Francisco Giants blasted the New York Mets 7-2 as Hector Sanchez homered, while the Chicago White Sox demolished and SHUT OUT the Oakland A’s 4-0 with homeruns from Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn in the 4th inning, the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals lost to the Chicago Cubs 3-2, the Houston Astros was defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5 as Ryan Braun launched a homerun, the Philadelphia Phillies was pounded by the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5 with homerun’s from Justin Upton and Jason Kubel in the 4th inning and the Atlanta Braves were crushed by LA Dodgers 7-2 with a balanced scoring attack to remain undefeated at home.

In sporting news, three days after being officially removed from UFC 146 for testing positive for higher than normal levels of testosterone, top rated heavyweight contender, Alistair Overeem issued an apology yesterday.  Overeem indicated he take a prescribed medication for a rib injury that caused his testosterone level to increase.  In a prepared statement, Overeem stated “I cannot express how sorry I am to the Commission, Junior dos Santos, the fans, the owners and employees of the UFC, my friends and family and anyone else who this has affected and I absolutely do not believe in, nor do I use performance-enhancing drugs. I am a clean fighter and I will do whatever it takes to prove this to everyone.”
