Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you heard it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Le’ Go!

Orland Magic fired coach
Stan Van Gundy & parted ways
with GM Otis Smith
There were two pivotal playoff games in the National Basketball Association starting with Eastern Conference Semi-Finals as the Philadelphia 76er’s was trying to get the coveted 3rd win of the series, but the Boston Celtics had other ideas in mind and went on to literally spank the 76er’s 101-85 as Brandon Bass came alive with 27 points, a career playoff high and the Celtics lead the series 3-2 and my LA Lakers was back in Oklahoma City to face off against the Thunder and bring their season to a conclusion as they were demolished 106-90, despite 42 points from Kobe Bryant in gallant effort, but it was Russell Westbrook’s 28 points that lead the Thunder into the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

The National Hockey League skated on last night one playoff game in the Eastern Conference Final, as the New York Rangers were pounded by the New Jersey Devils 4-1 with Zach Parise scoring 2 goals as  the Devils evened the series 2 games all.

Major League Baseball was swinging their bats in the American League as the Texas Rangers were annihilated by the Seattle Mariners 6-1 as Felix Hernandez struck out 7, the Boston Red Sox got past the Baltimore Orioles 8-6 as the Red Sox reach .500, the Kansas City Royals SHUT OUT and dominated the New York Yankees 6-0 as Felipe Paulino fanned 8 batters, while the Toronto Blue Jays clobbered the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2 with a homerun from Yunel Escobar and the LA Angels lost by a run to the Oakland A’s 2-1 as Tommy Milone notched his 6th win of the season.

In sporting news, after a tumultuous season in Orlando, rumors of Dwight Howard asking the Magic organization to fire coach Stan Van Gundy, Howard’s indecisiveness of whether he wanted to stay in Orlando or not, the Magic finally made a decision on Van Gundy and fired him yesterday.  Van Gundy amassed a record of 259 wins and with only 135 loses, but did not make it out the first round of the playoffs for the past two seasons.  In addition, the Magic parted ways with general manager Otis Smith after six years.  Alex Martins, CEO of the Magic praised Van Gundy as a great strategic coach, but wanted a coach that was better at building relationships with the players.
