NBA & NHL Playoffs, AL-MLB Scores, Kyrie Irving's ROY & Jeremy Lin News: 5/16, Vol. 143, 1st Edition

You can ask the five thousand, hungry souls he fed, on the banks of the river, with two fish and five loaves of bread. What a miracle, he performed for the multitude, oh what he did, way back then he'll do today for me and you…and He’s an on time God, yes He is! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you heard yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Le’ Go!

Kyrie Irving Kia
Rookie of the Year
The National Basketball Association was balling last night as the playoffs rolled on with the first game in the Western Conference Semi-Final pitted the San Antonio Spurs aka Fundamental Highlights against the LA Clippers aka Lob City Highlights and it was the Spurs dominating the Clippers 108-92 as Tim Duncan turned back the hands of time and laced them for a game high of 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Manu Ginobili drained 22 points off the bench to give the Spurs a 1-0 series lead and in the second game of the night, the Indiana Pacers were trying to even the series against the Miami Heat and they did just that with a score of 78-75 with 16 points from David West and Paul George had a double-double, but the story grabbing the headlines was LeBron James missed not one, but two free throws with 54.3 seconds left in the game and Dwayne Wade missed a layup with 16 seconds left that would have tied the game.

The second game in the Western Conference Finals in the National Hockey League witnessed the LA Kings getting a SHUT OUT and manhandling the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 as Jeff Carter netted a hat trick as the Kings take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

The bats were swinging in 7 games in the American League in Major League Baseball as the Cleveland Indians SHUT OUT and trounced the Minnesota Twins 5-0 as Derek Lowe throws his 1st shut-out game, the Detroit Tigers outlasted the Chicago White Sox 10-8 as Miguel Cabrera notched his 8th homer of the season, the Seattle Mariners was SHUT OUT and annihilated by the Boston Red Sox 5-0 as Josh Beckett stuck out 9 batters, the New York Yankees was pounded by the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 as Adam Jones belted his 11th homer, while the Oakland A’s were SHUT OUT and crushed by the LA Angels as Albert Pujos gets 3 hits and 2 RBI’s in the win, the Tampa Bay Rays eked out a one run win against the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 as David Price collects his 6th win and the Kansas City Royals bounced the Texas Rangers 7-4 to give Vin Mazzaro the win in his first start.

For your NBA Quick Dribbles, as reported a couple few days ago, rookie guard Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers was officially awarded the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award yesterday with 117 of 120 possible first-place votes from a nationwide media panel of writers and broadcasters and stated “it was a goal of mine and I knew as long as we won some games and beat some great teams that it was going to come”, Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins did not practice Tuesday and his availability for Game 2 of the team's second-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers is uncertain after Perkins re-aggravated a hip injury in the series opener Monday night, Rick Carlisle and the Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a four-year contract that will keep him in charge through at least the 2015-16 season, the NBA players' association said Tuesday it is seeking an arbitrator's ruling in hopes that Jeremy Lin and his teammate Steve Novak, the LA Clippers' Chauncey Billups and Portland Trailblazer's J.J. Hickson should be able to re-sign with their teams by using the "Bird" or "Early Bird" exceptions to the salary cap and finally, city leaders in San Francisco are courting the Golden State Warriors, trying to woo the NBA team back to the City by the Bay within five years.
