C.E.E.J.A.Y.'s 2012 Memorial Day Weekend Surprise Birthday Extravaganza!

Welcome to a very special C.E.E.J.A.Y.’s Commentary Corner on featuring Spiritually Twisted Sports!  Today’s commentary is titled ‘The Blessing of Fantastic Family & Fabulous Friends’.

C. J's Oscar Winning Moment!
As we go through life, we experience a variety of events that we cherish forever.  Some may cherish some form of graduation, starting a new business, giving birth to a child, getting married, or simply celebrating a birthday.  There are a plethora of events, situations and occasions that I will personally cherish forever and recently I had the wonderful Blessing of cherishing the celebration of my 40th birthday.  During the 2012 Memorial Day weekend, my lovely bride totally surprised me with not only a surprise birthday party, but a birthday weekend extravaganza produced by CJ40 Entertainment which included mixing my Orlando family and friends with my new found Houston friends.

The weekend started with the aforementioned surprise birthday party that had a Hollywood theme to it even with a quasi-Black French director that kept the night on point, my own themed Hollywood stars, the paparazzi was in the house and I also was presented with the very last Oscar period for Best Actor and Best Husband.  However comma I digress as I experienced what felt like an O. B. E. (outer body experience) after I realized the magnitude of what was revealing itself before me and the emotions overflowed like the Niagara Falls as I hug each and every person present, which included my Moms, nieces, cousins, mother-in-law, my Just Playin’ Family, close friends from Orlando, Dallas, and Houston.  We partied like it was no tomorrow, wobbled until we couldn’t wobble anymore, had a Soul Train line that would have made the late, great Don Cornelius ohhh so proud and my bride and I battled like we were outside our minds and I even had my very first, esophageal burning shot. Please forgive me.  Still don’t know exactly what the D. J. gave me, but I still get a little twitch like Smokey from Friday every now and again!

As if that wasn’t enough, the next day on Saturday, we feasted on some scrumptious seafood at Willie G’s in the Galleria area in our own private dining room where we talked, laughed and I thanked you, you, you, you, oh and you, especially you and of course you.  After a marvelous meal, my bride brought in some huge, gigantic, and enormous cupcakes from Three Brother’s Bakery, which included carrot cake, Italian Cream, Red Velvet, strawberry, and vanilla with chocolate icing……you can still taste it….huh!  Later that evening, we journeyed to 300 Bowling Alley and took in a night of bodacious bowling and more food that included sliders, chicken fingers, and mouthwatering meatballs.  You can taste those too, huh!?  Nonetheless comma we had a grand ole time and of course capped off the evening with…..wait for it, wait for it, you guess it!  More wobbling!  Apparently, we are some wobbling fools!  The night ended with spontaneously taking in a movie to watch Battleship and the world’s greatest Navy, but I’m a little biased.

The weekend of events properly came to a conclusion with attending church service at our Houston home church, Wheeler Avenue Baptist with our own designated area.  One simple word that echoed from Friday night’s surprise party….wow.

In conclusion, I simply can’t thank every person enough for taking time out of your life to celebrate mine.  Even to those who could not make it, I sincerely thank you.  To those who assisted my bride with any piece of information to coordinate the weekend extravaganza, I appreciate your efforts.
All of you have given me something more than the cards, gifts and birthday well wishes can ever give. I pause for a brief Public Service Announcement……I will open a card and/or gift every day until I run out to continue to relish in the celebration today.  Now back to your original programming.  All of you have given me the Beautiful Blessing of Fantastic Family and Fabulous Friends!  Thank you.  And lastly, to my lovely bride, I Love You; not for what you’ve done, but simply for being you.  You produced such a grand event that rivals second to none and 1st to any and I deeply appreciate you and a round of applause is in order.
