Lance Armstrong, NL Interleague Scores, BCS, NFL W/ Tebow & Pacman Jones: 6/14, Vol. 164, 2nd Edt'n

I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing, they knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them away! Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

Lance Armstrong is facing
new doping charges
There were a plethora of Interleague games in the National League stadiums as the New York Yankees got past the Atlanta Braves by one run 3-2 with the 19th homer from Curtis Granderson that notched the win, the Cleveland Indians were defeated by the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 with the assistance of a 2 run homerun from Brandon Phillips, the Boston Red Sox blasted the Miami Marlins 10-2 with 9 batters striking out against Felix Doubront, the Detroit Tigers hit up the Chicago Cubs for 8 runs to the Cubs 4 runs with a homer from Brennan Boesch, while the Chicago White Sox were SHUT OUT  against the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 as Lance Lynn struck-out 12 batters, the Oakland A’s knocked off the Colorado Rockies 10-8 with 3 homers from 3 different A’s and the LA Angels are gaining some ground as they defeated the LA Dodgers for the second night in row, 2-1 with a homerun from Erik Aybar.

Lance Armstrong’s drama continues as the 7 time Tour de France champion received a letter Tuesday from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, saying they intend to file charges that he possessed and used human growth hormone, testosterone and blood-doping products while a member of the U.S. Postal racing team, beginning in 1998. If true, he could be stripped of all seven Tour de France titles.  Armstrong, of course have denied the allegations yet again and released a statement that read in part “These charges are baseless, motivated by spite and advanced through testimony bought and paid for by promises of anonymity and immunity. Although USADA alleges a wide-ranging conspiracy extended over more than 16 years, I am the only athlete it has chosen to charge. USADA’s malice, its methods, its star-chamber practices, and its decision to punish first and adjudicate later all are at odds with our ideals of fairness and fair play.”

In sporting news, college football is steadily creeping towards a playoff system to determine its national champion.  BCS Commissioners and Norte Dame’s athletic director made progress on Wednesday to create a future postseason model.  Although a variety of issues were discussed, the reiterated that the ultimate decision will come from school presidents, who will consider multiple options.

For your NFL Quick Hits, The NFL is hoping Adam "Pacman" Jones can help the 2012 rookie class not make the same off-the-field mistakes that have defined his pro career and has invited the Cincinnati Bengals cornerback to talk to rookies the rookie symposium about the wrong way to start a professional career, Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was suspended for two games without pay Wednesday and will have to give up two more game checks for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin expressed disappointment and frustration about losing tight end Jake Ballard to the New England Patriots…so why put him on so early on minicamp, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Dontay Moch has been suspended for the first four games of the season because he violated the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, and finally, Tim Tebow, whom the New York Jets plan to use in a Wildcat package, revealed Wednesday at minicamp that his weight is 249 pounds, one pound shy of the ideal weight where they want him.
