Stanley Cup Final, NBA Finals Preview, MLB Scores Auburn & NBA News: 6/12, Vol. 162, 1st Edition

What a mighty God we serve, what a mighty God we serve! The angels bow before him, heaven and earth adore him…..what a mighty God we serve! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Le’ Go!

LA King Stanley Cup Champs!
The LA Kings for third time in the Stanley Cup Finals were trying to close-out the New Jersey Devils to win their first cup title in 45 years and they put a pitch fork in the Devils and manhandled them 6-1 to become the first eighth seeded team to win the title and proclaimed the Kings are, the Kings are as Trevor Lewis scored 2 goals and Jonathan Quick won the Conn Smythe trophy for Most Valuable Player in the series.

The time has come to ask the question….who will ascend to the mountaintop of the basketball world? The NBA Finals will tip off tonight at 9pm EST as the Oklahoma City Thunder appear in their first NBA Final to take on the Miami Heat, who advanced to the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year.  This NBA Final will mark the 5th time the reigning MVP goes up against the reigning scoring champ and the first time that either team does not have an ‘s ‘at the end of their name…just a little fun fact to pass along.

Major League Baseball had a very light schedule on the diamond with four Interleague games as the Washington Nationals got the best of the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 in the AL Stadium as Adam LaRoche belted his 11th homer of the season and in the National League Stadiums, the Boston Red Sox were defeated by the Miami Marlins 4-1 to end their 6 game losing streak, the New York Yankees SHUT OUT the Atlanta Braves 3-0 as Ivan Nova won his 8th game and the LA Angels knocked off the LA Dodgers 3-2 with a homerun from Mike Trout.

In sporting news, since the shooting death of three men, two of which are former Auburn football players and another wounded, police have arrested Jeremy S. Thomas of Montgomery, AL and another man, but Desmonte Leonard, who allegedly pulled the trigger, remains at large.

For your Quick NBA Dribbles, current owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, Michael Heisley has found a buyer for the team in the $350 million dollar range to tech magnate Robert J. Pera, founder and CEO of the Ubiquiti Networks, the Charlotte Bobcats have narrowed their list of head coaching candidates to Jerry Sloan, Brian Shaw and Quin Snyder, according to league sources, NBA referee Greg Willard, who was scheduled to work last Wednesday's Spurs-Thunder game before being replaced due to illness, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, may God provide a healing for his body and finally, the Miami Heat's win over the Boston Celtics to reach the NBA finals has drawn the highest preliminary television rating for an NBA playoff game on cable since records started being kept in 2003, essentially drawing a 9.1 overnight rating.
