Kasey Kahn wins at
New Hampshire
Major League Baseball was back will a full slate of games over the weekend and Sunday was no different as the American League had 7games on the diamond and the LA Angels avoided the three game sweep by the New York Yankees with a score of 10-8 as Mark Trumbo’s belted his 24th homer, the Cleveland Indians were SHUT OUT by the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 with 8 strikeouts from Carlos Villanueva, the Detroit Tigers SHUT OUT  and crushed the Baltimore Orioles 4-0 as Justin Verlander bounced back from his horrible All Star start and struck out 8 batters, the Boston Red Sox pummeled the Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 with a homerun from Mike Aviles, while the Chicago White Sox got by the Kansas City Royals 2-1 as Adam Dunn belted his 24th homer, the Oakland A’s blasted the Minnesota Twins 9-4 as four A’s launched homeruns and the Texas Rangers SHUT OUT and destroyed the Seattle Mariners 4-0 as Matt Harrison pitched a complete game and is tied for the most wins in the AL with 12.
Denny Hamlin and his crew chief had a bit of disagreement on many tires to change and with that confusion, Kasey Kahn took advantage of the miscommunication and went on to capture the checkered flag at New Hampshire in the Sprint Cup Series, his second win of the season while Hamlin came in 2nd, Clint Boyer 3rd, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. continues to run strong with a 4th place finish and Brad Keselowski round out the top five finishers.  In the Nationwide Series however the aforementioned Keselowski captured the checkered the flag when he slipped in front of Kevin Harvick who was entangled in traffic jam, finished 2nd and Austin Dillon came in 3rd.
The John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL with a purse of $4.6 million dollars experienced some extra playing time on Sunday thanks to a sudden death play-off between Troy Matteson and Zach Johnson as Matteson needed a top five finish to qualify for the British Open, but it was Johnson to notch the win with a birdie on the second hole with a 20 under par, with Matteson finishing 2nd, Scott Piercy 3rd and John Senden came in 4th.
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, with a sign-and-trade deal that will that send point guard Raymond Felton back to the New York Knicks and send power forward Jared Jeffries to the Portland Trailblazers, this could be the end of the Linsanity Train as the Knicks, according to sources will not match the Houston Rockets offer sheet that will pay Lin $25 million dollars over three years, but most importantly, pay him close to $15 million in the third year of the contract, but will the luxury tax ramifications, the Knicks will shell out double, almost $30 million in the third year, the Phoenix Suns have won the amnesty auction for former Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola, the Minnesota Timberwolves have submitted a four-year, $46 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Nicolas Batum and the Portland Trail Blazers now have three days to match the offer, former North Carolina center Brendan Haywood has been claimed by the Charlotte Bobcats, who was amnestied by the Dallas Mavericks, the Brooklyn Nets have agreed to terms with C.J. Watson, the team announced Saturday night as Watson's two-year contract is worth the veteran's minimum, Ray Allen took out a newspaper ad thanking Boston fans for his past five seasons with the Celtics after joining forces with the Miami Heat, Kyrie Irving, the NBA's reigning rookie of the year, broke his right hand during the Cleveland Cavaliers' practice on Saturday in Las Vegas and finally, New York Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was arrested early Sunday and charged with a misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated…now how much does a driver cost?  Probably less than the $3 million he is getting paid by the New York Knicks….dude and everybody…..DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.  More is at stake than YOU!
