NFL w/ Ndamukong Suh, Olympics w/ Usain Bolt & NL-MLB Scores: 7/27, Vol. 195, 3rd Edition

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His Holy name!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.

Starling Marte's 1st hit in
Major League Baseball
is a homerun
The National League in Major League Baseball also had a very light schedule last night with four games played on the half dirt/half grass field as the LA Dodgers were tamed by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 7-4 as Matt Holliday homered, the Pittsburgh Pirates outlasted the Houston Astros 5-3 as Starling Marte homered his first at bat for his major league debut, the Washington Nationals demolished the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 as Adam LaRoche went yard and the New York Mets got past the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1.
For your London Summer Olympic News, Usain Bolt the Olympic champion said Thursday a bad back has been causing him hamstring problems, leading to a pair of losses to training partner Yohan Blake at the Jamaican trials, British scientists say a heat wave has caused London's air quality to deteriorate, which could affect athletes' performances at the Olympics, and finally, Chinese farmer Chen Guanming claimed Thursday that his two-year odyssey to the London Games took him from Thailand's floods to Tibet to snowed-in Turkey to Britain since he started in 2010 all while riding on a rickshaw.
For your NFL Quick Hits,  after Jonathan Vilma and seven witnesses testified Thursday that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell got his facts wrong in the bounty scandal, a federal judge decided against making an immediate ruling on whether the suspended Saints' linebacker temporarily could return to work, unhappy with his contract, which has two years and roughly $9 million dollars left, Jacksonville Jaguars star running back Maurice Jones-Drew did not report Thursday to the start of Jacksonville's training camp, Ndamukong Suh is being sued for just more than $1 million by a woman who claims she was injured in a December car crash in Oregon involving the Detroit Lions' star, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith said Thursday he will donate $100,000 to the victims in last week's mass shooting at a theater in Aurora, CO,  the Seattle Seahawks added depth to its unproven wide receiver unit by signing veteran Antonio Bryant, the Chicago Bears have acquired defensive tackle Brian Price from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2013 seventh-round draft pick, San Francisco 49ers safety Dashon Goldson signed his one-year, $6.2 million dollar franchise tender on Thursday and reported to training camp on time, and finally, in Feel Good Sports Story, less than seven months after suffering life-threatening burns over almost half of his body in a house fire, Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach was back on field coaching his players.  Amen to that!
