Olympics w/ Chris Brown, NFLPA Lawsuit, MLB, WNBA, PGA & LPGA Scores: 7/5, Vol. 180, 2nd Edition

     Major League Baseball were running the bases in the National League last night MLB as Miami Marlins SHUT OUT and crushed the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0, the Washington Nationals got by the San Francisco Giants 6-5, the Houston Astros was SHUT OUT by the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0, the Chicago Cubs were pummeled by the Atlanta Braves 7-3, the Philadelphia Phillies lost to the New York Met 6-5, while the Colorado Rockies was trounced by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 6-2, the LA Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 and the Cincinnati Reds lost to the San Diego Padres 2-1.
     The ladies of the WNBA had two games last night as the Minnesota Lynx was dealt their 3rd loss of the seasons thanks to the LA Sparks 96-90 as Kristi Toliver was on fire with 29 points and Candace Parker said don’t forget about me with 28 points and 13 glass grabbing rebounds and the San Antonio Silver Stars demolished the Indiana Fever 88-72 with 19 points from Becky Hammon.
     The Greenbrier Classic at The Old White TPC teed off yesterday and Vijay Singh, a surprising name, is a top of the leaderboard in the first round and Jonathan Byrd, Jeff Maggert and Martin Flores are tied for 2nd and Tiger Woods got off to rough start and sits tied for 88th.
     And we can’t forget about the ladies in the LPGA as they teed their US Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run and Brittany Lincicome, Lizette Salas and Christie Kerr all shot a 3 under par and are tied for first place headed into the 2nd round.
     For your London Summer Olympic News, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng is the only NBA player on a British Olympic basketball squad missing Charlotte Bobcats duo Ben Gordon and Byron Mullens, Olympic gold medalists Clay Stanley and Reid Priddy were among the players chosen for the U.S. men's volleyball roster for the London Games, and finally, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was included on the 12-man roster for France's Olympic basketball team despite a left eye injury that could keep him sidelined after he suffered a scratch to his cornea in a fight involving singer Chris Brown and members of hip-hop star Drake's entourage in a New York nightclub last month.
     For your NFL Quick Hits, the NFL Players Association filed a lawsuit against the NFL on behalf of three players suspended in connection with the bounty investigation, calling commissioner Roger Goodell "incurably and evidently biased, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell filed a motion to dismiss Vilma's defamation claims in connection with the league's bounty investigation, fans at NFL games this season will view the exact same replay the lead official is viewing on the sideline video monitor, and finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars and kicker Josh Scobee have resumed contract talks, a source familiar with the situation told the Florida Times-Union on Thursday.
