Major League Baseball had slighter less games than the normal 15 on the diamond as I start off with American League as the Texas Rangers pounced on the New York Yankees 10-6 as they turned up the heat in the 7th inning and did not look back, the Boston Red Sox got a win last night 6-3 against the Baltimore Orioles to avoid the sweep, the Chicago White Sox molliwoped the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 as White Sox players homered, while the Oakland A’s SHUT OUT the Kansas City Royals 3-0 as Dan Staily notches his 1st career win helped by Yoenis Cespedes’ 15th homer and the Tampa Bay Rays SHUT OUT and literally spanked the LA Angels 7-0 as 3 Rays went yard.
The ladies of the basketball court were back in action as the WMBA had three games to tip off yesterday as the Washington Mystics were demolished by the Indiana Fever 84-66 with 14 boards from Tamika Catchings and Eriana Larkins poured in 16 points, the Connecticut Sun were lambasted by New York Liberty 79-66 as Cappie Pondexter scorched the Sun for 24 points and the Phoenix Mercury were devastated by the Seattle Storm as Camille Little came up big with 17 points.
The Wyndham Championship teed off yesterday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC as Carl Petterson sits atop the leaderboard with an 8 under par and David Mathis and Tim Clark are tied for 2nd one shot back and there are a host of golfers 2 shots back tied for 4th.
For your Post London Olympic News, Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma said he has no interest in returning as coach of the U.S. women's national basketball team for the 2016 Rio Olympics and General Mills Inc. on Thursday unveiled limited-edition boxes of its Wheaties cereal featuring the king of gold medals Michael Phelps and three time gold medalist Misty May Treanor that will be available next month.
