Grenada's Kirani James, Women's Soccer, Men's Basketball & Total Medal Count: 8/7, Vol 202, 1st Edition

There were dangers awaiting me, destruction was sure to be!  But thank God for angels that were shielding, protecting and looking out for me!  Good morning and welcome back to Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

Kirani James wins gold
for Grenada
The 2012 Olympics rolled on Monday as pay my respects to Grenada as Kirani James gave his country their first gold medal as he just clobbered the competition on the way to finish line with a time of 43.94 seconds in the 400 meters and no American was part of the race since LaShawn Merrit had to withdraw due to an injury.
Team USA for Women’s soccer experienced a close call as they were fighting to reach the final as they battled Canada and the Americans reached down deep in overtime after a pep talk from Abby Wambach as she said “I know I've said this before….but it really does just take one moment and one chance, one moment of brilliance for somebody to do something individually spectacular."  With that said, that ignited a 6 yard header from Alex Morgan to put the ladies in the final round with a 4-3 victory.
Gymnastics was back in the spotlight as the uneven bars was the name of the game and Gabby Douglas simply ran out of gas in her routine and finished last as Russia’s Aliya Mustafina won gold, but that’s okay as Gabby is still golden and will be back for the balance beam.
Men’s basketballs tipped off yesterday this time against Argentina and only lead 60-59 at half-time.  But in the 2nd half, Team USA must have had some home cooking flown in as they went on a tear blew out Argentina 126-97 behind Kevin Durant’s 28 points.
The women’s 100m hurdles witnessed Dawn Harper, Lolo Jones and Sally Pearson advancing to the semi-finals, Sanya Richards-Ross had no problems advancing to semi-finals in the 200m, while Jenn Suhr finally captured gold in the pole vault and the men’s volleyball team locked up the top pool position with a win over Tunisia.
The United States is trailing China in total medal count as China now has 31 gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze for a tally of 64 while the United States has 29 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze for 63 and Russia has overtaken the host country Great Britain for third place in medal count with 42.
For your London Olympic News, Algerian middle-distance runner Taoufik Makhloufi has been reinstated for the 1,500-meter final after he had been disqualified from the London Olympics for allegedly not trying hard enough Monday in the 800 heats, Olympians who earn gold medals receive a $25,000 prize, silver winners get $15,000 and bronze winners pick up $10,000 and The White House says President Barack Obama supports a measure by Senator Mark Rubio that would exempt U.S. Olympians from taxes on their prizes, BMX rider Arielle Martin of the United States has had surgery after injuring her liver and lung in a crash during practice last week that knocked her out of the London Olympics, two water polo referees who disallowed what appeared to be a legitimate goal will not officiate another match at the Olympics, and finally, American judo fighter Nick Delpopolo was expelled from the Olympics for doping Monday, saying he unintentionally ate something before the Games that had been baked with marijuana. Wasn’t there an unusual smell? Huh?!
