Greg Biffle captures the
checkered flag at the
Pure Michigan 400
Have you ever been driving and cruising along the highway and your engine just totally gives out?  Well, that’s what happened to Jimmie Johnson at Michigan International Speedway for the Pure Michigan 400 as he started from the back of the pack and quickly moved up and had taken the lead at lap 191, but his engine failed with only six laps left and that opened the door for Greg Biffle to take the checkered flag as Brad Keselowski finished 2nd, Kasey Kahne finished 3rd, coming in 4th place was Dale Earnhardt, Jr and Marcos Ambros round out the top five.
With Greg Biffle winning, he catapulted to the top of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings with 823 points, Matt Kenseth with 803 points, Dale Earnhardt, Jr is now 3rd with 801 points and Jimmie Johnson is 4th with 795 points.
I ran over a shoe!  That’s what happened when Danika Patrick, who lead a career high 20 laps, ran over a random shoe on the course during the Nationwide Series at Montreal as Justin Allgair captured the victory, while Sam Hornish, Jr finished 2nd, Jacques Villeneuve 3rd the aforementioned Patrick finished 27th.
Poised to win his first PGA tour ever since 2008 at the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC, Sergio Garcia will have endure the painful time of waiting since round 4 was suspended due to rain and Garcia sits atop the leaderboard by one stroke at 15 under par while host of golfers are chasing him at one shot back.
Roger Federer has five fingers on his right hand and that’s the hand he used to hoist his record 5th Cincinnati Title for the Western & Southern Open as he simply manhandled Novak Djokovic 6-0, 7-6.
Major League Baseball had seven games on the diamond yesterday in American League as the Chicago White Sox couldn’t handle the Kansas City Royals and lost 5-2, the Tampa Bay Rays stung the LA Angels 8-3 despite homers from Albert Pujos and Mike Trout, the Cleveland Indians were literally spanked by the Oakland A’s and SHUT OUT 7-0 as Coco Crisp went yard, the Minnesota Twins were dominated by the Seattle Mariners 5-1 while the Boston Red Sox came up short against the New York Yankees 4-1 as Ichiro Suzuki had went the long yard buffet line twice, the Baltimore Orioles got past the Detroit Tigers 7-5 as Chris Davis belted his 20th homer and the Texas Rangers literally spanked the Toronto Blue Jays 11-2 as Michael Young had 3 hits, 5 RBI’s and top it off with a homerun.
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, LeBron James has indicated that if healthy, he would like another crack at getting a gold medal for the United States at the 2016 Rio Games, after having surgery for his ailing ankle, Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut fully expects to be in the lineup when their NBA season kicks off on October 31, and the New Orleans Hornets and coach Monty Williams have agreed on a four your contract extension.
