The National League were battling on the diamond with a bunch of games as the Philadelphia Phillies were mangled by the Miami Marlins 9-2 as John Buck accounted for 3 RBI’s, the Houston Astros were lambasted by the Chicago Cubs 7-2 with not 1, but 2 homeruns from David DeJesus, the Milwaukee Brewers lost by one measly run to the Colorado Rockies 7-6 as Tyler Covin’s 2 run double in the 9th sealed the deal, the Washington Nationals got past the San Francisco Giants 6-4 as Stephan Strasburg won his 14th game, the LA Dodgers pounded the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-3 as Clayton Kershaw pitched 8 strong innings and fanned 8 batters, while the San Diego Padres were tomahawked by Atlanta Braves, the New York Mets were mesmerized by the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 as Mike Leake pitched a complete game and got help from Scott Rolen, Jay Bruce, and Todd Frazier who all went yard, and the Arizona Diamondbacks were defeated by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 5-2 as David Freese and Allen Craig each homered.

And now it's gone”, former USC running back Reggie Bush finally returned his copy of the controversial 2005 Heisman Trophy, a spokesman for the Heisman Trust confirmed to ESPNLosAngeles.com on Wednesday,  and finally, USC Trojans defensive end DeVante Wilson has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo season-ending surgery, Trojans coach Lane Kiffin announced Wednesday.
