Another day and another full and healthy dose of Major League Baseball starting with the seven games in the American League as the Minnesota Twins were hammered by the Cleveland Indians 6-2 as the Indians end their 11 game slide, the Texas Rangers eked out a one run win 10-9 over the Boston Red Sox as Josh Hamilton slammed his 30th homer and three other Rangers also went yard, the LA Angels lost by a run 9-8 to the Oakland A’s despite 4 homeruns by the Angels, the Seattle Mariners pummeled by the Baltimore Orioles 9-2 as Nick Markakis homered , while the New York Yankees outmuscled the Detroit Tigers 12-8 as Curtis Granderson belted his 30th homer to go along with 4 RBI’s, the Toronto Blue Jays lost by a run 3-2 to the Tampa Bay Rays as Alex Cobb goes 7 for 7 as he pitched 7 innings and struck out 7 batters and the Kansas City Royals got past the Chicago White Sox 2-1 with a homer from Mike Moustakes.
The National League was balling yesterday with eight games as the Cincinnati Reds lost by a run 3-2 against the Milwaukee Brewers with a homer from Carlos Gomez, the Chicago Cubs were SHUT OUT by the San Diego Padres 2-0 as Clayton Richards pitched a complete 5 hit game, the Atlanta Brave manhandled the Philadelphia Phillies 12-6 as Dan Uggla hit a tie breaking 3 run double in the 7th, the Arizona Diamondbacks lost by a run to the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-6 with 3 Pirates going yard, the Miami Marlins SHUT OUT and literally spanked and totally embarrassed the New York Mets 13-0 as Giancarlo Stanton homered twice, while the San Francisco Giants also SHUT OUT, literally spanked and simply befuddled the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 15-0 as Marco Scutaro drove in 7, the Washington Nationals eked out a one run win over the Houston Astros 4-3 with a homer from Gio Gonzalez and the Colorado Rockies lost to the LA Dodgers 6-4 with a homer from Matt Kemp.
