Major League Baseball were running the bases yesterday in the American League as Kansas City Royals were pounded by the Boston Red Sox 5-1 with a homer from Jacoby Ellsbury, the Chicago White Sox lost by a run 4-3 to the Baltimore Orioles as they won their 13th consecutive 1 run game, the Oakland A’s SHUT OUT the Cleveland Indians 3-0 as Josh Reddick provided a homer, while the New York Yankees needed to 11 innings to lose to the Toronto Blue Jays 8-7 as the Blue Jays hit 3 homeruns, the Tampa Bay Rays lost by a run 6-5 to the Texas Rangers with Adrian Beltre’s 25th homer and the Seattle Mariners SHUT OUT the Minnesota Twins 1-0 as King Felix tosses a 5 hit SHUT OUT.
The 2012 US Open kicked off yesterday as your notable wins for the women were Maria Sharapova, Anastasia Rodiovnova, Jie Zheng, Aleksandra Wozniak, Petra Kvitova, Lucie Safarova, Victoria Azarenka, Samantha Stosur, Li Na, and Kim Clijsters.
