NFL w/ Terrell Owens, NBA Quick Dribbles & AL-NL MLB Scores: 8/7, Vol. 202, 2nd Edition

I couldn't seem to fall asleep; there was so much on my mind….searching for that peace. But the peace I could not find.  So then I kneeled down to pray, praying help me please, then He said you don't have to cry, because I'll supply all your needs!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhea Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

T. O. playing football
again...popcorn anyone??
The American League in Major League Baseball had six games swinging the bats as the New York Yankees were dominated by the Detroit Tigers 7-2 as Justin Erlanger struck out 14 batters, the Seattle Mariners lost to the Baltimore Orioles 3-1 as Nick Mar kakis homered, the Minnesota Twins literally spanked the Cleveland Indians 14-3 with two homers from Justin Marceau, while the Texas Rangers were demolished by the Boston Red Sox 9-2 as Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez each had 3 RBI’s, the Kansas City Royals was defeated by the Chicago White Sox 4-2 with the help of Paul Koneke’s 18th homer and the LA Angels SHUT OUT and crushed the Oakland A’s 4-0 as Jared Weaver pitched a complete game striking out 9.
The National League had seven games running the bases as the Atlanta Braves pummeled the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 as Jason Heyward belted his 18th homer, the Arizona Diamondbacks were SHUT OUT and blasted by the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0, the Washington Nationals needed 11 innings to get past the Houston Astros 5-4 as a series of errors did the Astros in, the Cincinnati Reds lost 6-3 to the Milwaukee Brewers as 3 Brewers launched homeruns, while the San Francisco Giants were walloped by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 as Carlos Beltran went yard for the 26th time, the Chicago Cubs were SHUT OUT by the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies were SHUT OUT  by the LA Dodgers 2-0.
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Yahoo! Sports reported on Monday that longtime general manager of the Utah Jazz Kevin O'Connor, is being promoted in his executive role and being replaced in day-to-day duties by San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey and the Sacramento Kings extended head coach Keith Smart's contract through the 2013-14 season on Monday as his current contract had been set to expire after the upcoming season.
For your NFL Quick Hits, after the Seattle Seahawks wider receiver corp was decimated by injuries, the Seahawks turned to none other than Terrell Owens and signed him to a one year deal worth $1 million dollars and T. O. tweeted “God is good. Thankful. Grateful. To ALL my new teammates & the "12th Man"... Let's Do This!!” This ought to be interesting.  Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur announced what had been an open secret after practice on Monday that Brandon Weeden, the #22 overall pick in this year’s draft, will start Friday night in Detroit, Jacksonville Jaguars signed first-round pick Justin Blackmon on Monday to a contract that will be worth about $18.5 million for four years, which is the maximum for a fifth pick under the NFL's rookie wage system, the Denver Broncos sign veteran linebacker Keith Brooking, and finally, former Philadelphia Eagles running back Reno Mahe pleaded no contest Monday to accusations that he stole thousands of dollars in gasoline, a deal that means no jail time and possibly having the case dismissed.  Dude, I know gas prices are high as heaven, but come on man?!
