Olympics w/ Aly Raisman, Dawn Harper, Medal Count & Taoufik Makhloufi: 8/8, Vol. 203, 1st Edition

The Devil had a plan to kill me, I know, But God intercepted his plan, and told the devil, no God blocked it and He wouldn't let it be so!  Good morning and welcome back to Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhea on Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Let’s Get It Started!

US Captain Aly Raisman
captures gold in the balance beam
After Béla Károlyi was posturing to challenge the balance beam score in US captain gymnast Aly Raisman’s performance, she won bronze in tie break over Catalina Ponor and she was also flawless on the floor exercise which provided her with her 2nd gold medal.
They were off and running in Track & Field in the Women’s 100m Hurdles as Sally Pearson of Australia wasn’t going to be denied as she sprinted to gold, but the United States faired very well as Dawn Harper was behind Pearson by two one-hundredths of a second to claim silver and Kellie Wells is bringing home the bronze and Lolo Jones who ran a clean, smooth race, finished 4th out of medal contention.
It will be an all American showdown in the beach volleyball as April Ross and Jennifer Kessy will face off against two time defending champions Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May Treanor and after the US women’s soccer team outlasted Canada on Monday, the US women’s basketball team demolished Canada 91-48 and the United States forced Canada into 26 turnovers to reach the semifinals.
The total medal count continues to heat up as China has increased its lead over the United States as China now has 34 gold, 21 silver and 18 bronze for a total count of 73, while the United States gold count is 30, silver count is 19 and bronze count is 21 for a total of 70 and the host country Great Britain is back in third place with 48 after being replaced Russia for one day.
For your London Olympic News,  even with a second chance, Errol Spence was unable to prevent the first medal shutout in the history of the U.S. men's Olympic boxing team, the coach of world champion gymnast Jordyn Wieber says she may have a stress fracture in her right leg, Italian race walker Alex Schwazer says he obtained the performance-enhancing drug EPO on his own and used it because he felt pressure to win a second straight 50-kilometer walk gold medal at the Olympics, Cameroon's Olympic chief says seven of the country's Olympic competitors are missing from the London's athletes' village, prompting concern they may attempt to seek asylum in Britain, Algeria's Taoufik Makhloufi won the 1,500-meter gold medal at the London Olympics on Tuesday night, only a day after being reinstated to the final, defending Olympic weightlifting champion Matthias Steiner of Germany was hit in the neck by the barbell Tuesday and withdrew from the men's super-heavyweight competition, 3-month-old cheetah cubs at the National Zoo in Washington have been named for the fastest Americans in the Olympics, Carmelita and Justin, and finally, 47-year-old Italian Josefa Idem made history at a chilly Dorney Lake on Tuesday when she became the first woman to compete in eight Olympics….age in nothing but a number…..huh?!
