NCAAF AP Top 10, MEAC Standings, US Open & AL MLB Scores: 9/5, Vol. 222, 1st Edition

We will worship the Lord with praise we'll sing, we will shout in all the earth that Jesus is our King .             He deserves glory, He deserves honor…..sing hallelujah as we bless His name; For He is the great I AM! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday! I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Leggo!

Alabama now sit in the
Kings Chair in the #1 ranking
The 2012 US Open continued to make their way to the finals as the men only had one match yesterday as 4th seeded David Ferrer battled in the 4th Round against 13th seeded Richard Gasquet and cruised to a win in straight sets 7-5, 7-6, 6-4 and the ladies only had one quarterfinal match #1 seeded Victoria Azarenka needed 3 sets to get past 7th seeded Samantha Stosur 6-1, 6-4, 7-6.
The American League had it going on in Major League Baseball with seven games on the diamond as the New York Yankees lost yet another game to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 as Evan Longoria and B. J. Upton both went yard, the Cleveland Indians defeated the Detroit Tigers 3-2, the Baltimore Orioles SHUT OUT and literally spanked the Toronto Blue Jays 12-0 as Mark Reynolds launches his 17th homer, the Minnesota Twins manhandled and doubled up the Chicago White Sox 18-9 as Ryan Doumit homered for the 15th time, while the Texas Rangers got handled by the Kansas City Royals 6-3 with Alex Gordon’s 11th homer, the LA Angels stomped the Oakland A’s 6-1 and the Boston Red Sox stopped the hemorrhaging as they eked out a 4-3 win against the Seattle Mariners with help of Cody Ross’ 20th homer.
Now that Week 1 is in the can in college football there was a little shuffling to take place in the polls as the AP now has Alabama sitting in the King’s Chair, USC had a dominating win as well but over an unranked opponent as they now hold the 2nd spot, LSU maintained their position at #3, Oregon moved up on spot to claim #4, while Oklahoma dropped one spot to settle in at #5, Florida State climbed up one spot to move into the 6th spot, while Georgia take Florida State’s old spot at #7, Arkansas jumped up 2 spots to #8, South Carolina stayed steady at the 9th spot, West Virginia also is at #9 moving up from the 11th spot and rounding out the top 10 errrr, 11 is Michigan State, who moved up from the 13th spot and lastly, 24th ranked Boise State got the boot from the AP Top 25.
And for the top five in the MEAC standings as all five team are undefeated, Bethune Cookman, Delaware State, Howard, Morgan State and Norfolk State round out the top five.
