NCAAF AP Top 10, NFL w/ Logon Mankins, NHRA & Lance Thomas Being Sued: 9/10, Vol. 225, 3rd Edition

Haven't lived a perfect life, seems I've done wrong more than I've done right. But thank God for His compassion and forgiveness that kept me from a terrible plight!  For your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.

Alabama still #1
As college football wraps up an exciting Week 2 of Grid Iron Madness, there was a little shuffling to take place in the AP Top 10 as Alabama, USC, LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma all maintain their rankings 1 – 5 in that order, while Florida State moved up one spot and will share the 5th rank spot, Georgia also maintained their 7th ranking position, while South Carolina climb one spot to 8th, West Virginia stay steady at #9 and Michigan State cracked the top 10 coming up from the 11th spot.  Since 8th ranked Arkansas was UPSET by unranked Louisiana Monroe they had the most gigantic drop out of the rankings and other teams dropping out of the rankings were 13th ranked Wisconsin, 16th ranked Nebraska and 18th ranked Oklahoma State.
For your NFL Quick Hits, Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings will not pursue any type of contract extension with Green Bay during the regular season, according to a source familiar with the situation as he doesn’t want the negotiations to be a distraction,  St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Rodger Saffold has movement in his arms and legs after being carted off the field with a neck injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, Pro Bowl guard Logon Mankins not only played with a torn ACL during the Monday Night Football opener against the Miami Dolphins a year ago, but he also finished the game becoming one of the rare, if not the only, players to have played an entire 16-game season with that kind of an injury, and finally,  wide receiver Roy Williams, whose career fizzled after the Dallas Cowboys traded for him in a blockbuster deal, announced his retirement on his Facebook page Saturday and stated quote "Thank you all who've cheered for me, booed me, and loved me, y'all are still fans to me!”
Lance Thomas' lawsuit
could spell trouble for Duke
For your Quick News & Notes, Tony Schumacher raced to his record ninth Top Fuel victory in the U.S. Nationals on Sunday, beating Spencer Massey with a run of 3.806 seconds at 315.34 mph in the rain-delayed NHRA event, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton won the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, and Formula One leader Fernando Alonso of Ferrari finished third to extend his overall lead, Lance Thomas, a starter on Duke's 2010 national championship team is being sued by a New York jeweler for not paying the balance of $67,800 after buying $100,000 in custom jewelry that season and a Duke spokesman said the university knows about the lawsuit and is looking into it, it is too soon to know if Tulane safety Devon Walker will be paralyzed as the result of a spinal fracture he suffered while making a tackle, and the full extent of his injury may not be known for days, the team's doctor said Sunday, Arkansas Razorback quarterback Tyler Wilson suffered a head injury against Louisiana-Monroe and was listed as day to day by coach John L. Smith, Miami coach Al Golden says linebacker Ramon Buchanan will miss the rest of the season with a right knee injury and safety Vaughn Telemaque is out for this week's game against Bethune-Cookman with a left knee injury, and finally, Mark Teixeira will miss at least four games due to his injured left calf and won't return to the New York Yankees' lineup until Friday at the earliest.
