Welcome Back during the Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns |
Thursday Night Football
in the National Football League started off with a standing ovation for the
regular referee’s as they tipped their cap to the fans before kicking off the
game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns as the Browns just kept hanging
around, but it wasn’t meant to be as the Ravens notched the victory
over those Browns 23-16 as Joe Flacco threw for 356 yards and a TD and also ran
for a score and Torrey Smith caught 6 passes for the 97 yards and a TD.
The lovely ladies of
the WNBA kicked off their playoffs last night as the New York Liberty was
defeated by the Connecticut Sun 65-60 as Tina Charles poured in 17 points to
assist the Sun in taking the 1-0 series lead and Kristi Toliver was ballin’
last night as she had the nets signing with her 29 points as the LA Sparks outlasted
the San Antonio Silver Stars as the Sparks also take a 1-0 series lead in the
West.
The American League in
Major League Baseball had only five games on the diamond but history was made
as Doug Fister of the Detroit Tigers struck out 9 straight batters as the
Tigers defeat the Kansas City Royals 5-4 and the Tigers keep their Central
Division lead, the Oakland A’s lost to the Texas Rangers 9-7 as despite 5
homers by the A’s, the Seattle Mariners clipped the wings of the LA Angels 9-4 as John
Jaso went yard, the New York Yankees were SHUT OUT and manhandled by the Toronto Blue Jays as J. P.
Arencibia launched his 18th homer and the Tampa Bay Rays eked out
the one run win 3-2 against the Chicago White Sox as Luke Scott and Evan Longoria
each belted their 14th homers.
