The Irish takes their good luck to the ACC |
Major League Soccer had one game last night a Toronto FC lost 1-2 to the Chicago Fire.
In sporting news, the Big East has lost a BIG one as Norte Dame will move all of its sports, well all non-football sports to the Atlantic Coast Conference by 2014. Now the Irish will still maintain their independent status in football however, they will play five games annually against ACC schools. With Norte Dame’s departure, they are required to pay a $5 million exit fee and provide the Big East with a 27 months’ notice of their departure. On the other hand, the ACC made a huge exception to its all or nothing policy for schools to be full members, but I guess if the school has enough clout, such as Norte Dame, you side step your own requirements.
For your Major League Quick Swings, Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre was taken out of the team's 5-2 win on Wednesday's against the Cleveland Indians in the top of the fifth inning with a left shoulder strain and one of baseball's traditional home openers will have an innovative twist next season as the Cincinnati Reds will host the Los Angeles Angels on April 1, becoming the first teams to start their seasons with an interleague match-up.
