The Heat Big Three finally
collected the 1st of several
 rings  they promised
It’s here, it’s here….it’s finally here as the National Basketball Association tipped off their 66th season as the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers played the very first game of the season and the Cavs came out running and gunning as the went on to defeat the Wizards 94-84 as Kyrie Irving poured in 29 points and Anderson Varejao collected a career high 23 glass grabbing rebounds, in the 2nd game of the night, the Miami Heat received their 2nd championship ring and the reigning MVP LeBron James collected his 1st ring before their home crowd and their rival Boston Celtics and the Heat started their defense of their title by throttling the Celtics 120-107with 29 points from Dwayne Wade, Ray Allen, former member of those Celtics, poured in 19 points off the bench and LeBron James had a solid game but had to take a couple trips to the locker room to be treated for leg cramps and in the 3rd game, my new look LA Lakers not only looked new, but they played new as they were knocked off by the Dirk-less Dallas Mavericks 99-91 as Darren Collison chipped in 17 points and Dwight Howard played his first official game since being traded from my hometown Orlando Magic and having back surgery, had a nice debut with a double-double of 19 points and 10 boards.

I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Let’s Get It Started!

Randy Moss on his way to his
159th TD in MNF against
the Cardinals
The National Football League showcased their anticipated Monday Night Football game last night as the San Francisco 49er’s faced off against the St. Louis Cardinals and Alex Smith had a night to be remembered as he completed 18 of 19 passes for 232 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s as one TD went to Randy Moss as he simply pushed aside and dodged defenders on his way to tie Terrell Owens for fourth on the NFL career touchdown list with 156.  As the 49er’s passing game was humming right along, their running just enough to keep the Cardinals defense off balance with a total of 113 yards from five different rushers which compared to the Cardinals running game of 7 total yards, yes you heard correctly, 7 total yards…..shux, I could have them 7 yards myself….huh, nonetheless comma I digress as the 49er’s went on to pound, pulverize and pummel, alliteration, I Love it, the Cards 24-3 as the Cardinals became the 3rd team in NFL history to win four games to start the season off and the loose the next four games…ouch.

Atlanta Falcons not only
have the best record in the
NFL, but they are still
undefeated
As we basically half through the NFL season, here are your standings midway through the season in the National Football Conference as the New York ‘Football’ Giants lead the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles 2nd, the Chicago Bears lead the NFC North with the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers tied for 2nd, while the Atlanta Falcons are the only undefeated team in the league as they sit atop the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers several games behind and with their win last night, the San Francisco 49er’s created more room between them and the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West.

For your Quick NFL Hits, Michael Vick hasn't been benched by Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid, according to multiple media reports as he continues to be the starting quarterback, the NFL has moved its trade deadline back two days to Thursday because of potential complications from Hurricane Sandy, Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano made it back to the team complex for a short staff meeting Monday since being diagnosed and treated for a form of leukemia September 26 and they also waived running back Mewelde Moore and nose tackle Antonio Dixon, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings was scheduled to undergo a sports hernia surgery for a torn abdominal muscle in Philadelphia on Tuesday, but coach Mike McCarthy said Monday it was postponed because of the super storm on the East Coast, and finally, Joe Mays of the Denver Broncos is out for the season after suffering a broken left leg in the Broncos win on Sunday.

The Giants celebrate their 2nd
World Series title in three years
The Detroit Tigers did their best in Game 4 of the World Series last night as they fought tooth and nail to take the game to 10 innings, but they just didn’t have enough as they were swept in four games by the San Francisco Giants as the Giants won their 2nd World Series in three years as Buster Posey homered, but it was Marco Scutaro delivering the go ahead single with two outs in the 10th and your World Series MVP is The Panda Bear, Pablo Sanvodal.

Eli Manning won four straight starts
at the Cowboys stadium....the 1st ever
to do so

The National Football League had plenty of games on the Grid Iron for Week 8 as I run down your Round 1 scores as the Carolina Panthers probably thought they had a win in the bag but the Chicago Bears told a 12 point deficit to get behind thee and rallied past the Panthers by one measly point 23-22 as Tim Jennings had 2 INT’s in which he took one to the house, the San Diego Chargers also lost by one measly point to the Cleveland Browns as rookie Trent Richardson had 122 ground pounding yards and a score, the Seattle Seahawks put up a great effort by lost to the Detroit Lions 28-24 as Matthew Stafford finally had a game he is known to have with 352 passing yards and 2 TD’s, while the Green Bay Packers knock off the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-15 with 35 attempts by Aaron Rodgers and only 186 yards….ewww and 2 TD’s, but a win is a win, overtime was needed for the Indianapolis Colts to notch the 19-13 win against the Tennessee Titans as Vick Ballard leaped into the end zone for the OT TD and the New England Patriots literally spanked the St. Louis Rams 45-7 as Tom Brady shredded the Rams defense for 304 passing yards and count em’ uno, dos, tres, quarto TD’s.

Jimmy Johnson won for the 7th
time at Martinsville and now is
the points leader
Martinsville Speedway was the place for NASCAR’s trickiest oval on Sunday but it was tamed by five time series champion Jimmy Johnson as he captured the checkered flag for the 7th time at the track and the win pushed Johnson passed previous points leader Brad Keselowski as Johnson now leads in the points, with aforementioned Keselowski in 2nd place, Clint Bowyer is 3rd, while Kasey Kahne is 3 points behind Bowyer for 4th and Denny Hamlin is 5th.

James Harden is now
a Houston Rocket

For your NBA Quick Dribbles, in the news that broke late Saturday night and had Twitter buzzing, James Harden, reigning Sixth Man of the Year, was traded to the Houston Rockets from the Oklahoma City Thunder, amongst other involved players and draft picks and the Rockets reportedly will sign Harden to a max contract, something the Thunder was unable to do and LA Lakers guard Kobe Bryant sat out Sunday's practice, using the time to receive treatment on the strained right foot he hurt a full week ago during the team's exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings and his availability remains in question for the season opener on Tuesday.

The Saints were Manning-handled
by Peyton 34-14
For Round 2 of your NFL scores, the Miami Dolphins are one game above .500 as they blasted, beat up and bruised the New York Jets, alliteration, I Love It, 30-9 as Matt Moore replaced Ryan Tannehill who was injured, but kept the engine humming as he threw a TD along with 131 yards, the Atlanta Falcons were looking to stay undefeated and reached 7-0 in franchise history and they did just that as they walloped the reeling Philadelphia Eagles as Matt Ryan threw for 262 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, the Washington Redskins receivers apparently thought they were catching a hot potato since they kept dropping the ball, but the Pittsburgh Steelers did as they pleased as they clobbered the Redskins 27-12 as Ben Rothlisberger had 222 passing yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s, while the Oakland Raiders dominated the Kansas City Chiefs 26-16 with 209 yards and 2 TD’s tossed by Carson Palmer, the Dallas Cowboys tried to mount a comeback against the New York Giants but came up short as they were beat by the Giants 29-24 despite 437 passing yards from Tony Romo….wow and the Sunday Night Featured Game, the New Orleans Saints were Manning-handled, by Peyton 34-14 as he was surgical with the pigskin with 302 yards and a total of 3 TD’s.

A pretty & playful Serena Williams
captures her 3rd WTA Title
The WTA Championship concluded with Serena Williams capturing the title for the 3rd time as she crushed and cruised past Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-3 and Williams stated “Now that I can be honest, I really wanted to win… I wanted it so bad but I didn't want to say it ...it was really important for me to end the year with this title in particular."

Major League Soccer had three matches kicking around last night as the Columbus Crew got past Toronto FC 2-1, FC Dallas played Chivas USA to a 2-2 tie and the LA Galaxy SHUT OUT the Seattle Sounders FC 1-0.

For your NFL Quick Hits, the Kansas Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn is being evaluated for what the team called a "head injury" after leaving in the first half of their game against Oakland on Sunday, the St. Louis Rams have fielded trade inquiries about running back Steven Jackson over the past few weeks in advance of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, and finally, team sources say Mario Williams of the Buffalo Bills was a no-show last Monday before he texted a trainer and his defensive line coach to say he was getting a second opinion on his wrist and, subsequently, that he was undergoing arthroscopic surgery…..can you say $100 million dollar mistake….huh?!

The SWAC Conference was doing their thing as they had four games on the Grid Iron yesterday starting with the Magic City Classic as Alabama State clobbered, crushed and controlled, alliteration, I Love It, Alabama A&M 31-13 as Greg Jenkins passed for 264 yards and score and running back Isaiah Crowell added 2 TD’s, Mississippi Valley State was SHUT OUT and demolished by Arkansas Pine-Bluff 10-0 with Justin Billings scoring a rushing TD for their homecoming, while in the Shreveport Classic, Prairie View hammered Southern 49-29 as quarterback De’Auntre Smiley was smiling all day long with a blistering 398 passing yards and count ‘em uno, dos, tres, quarto TD’s and he rushed the rock for scorching 170 yards and another TD….now Dat Dude had it going on and Texas Southern eked out the win against Grambling State 23-20 as Rudy Johnson threw 2 TDs’.

Making our way over to the MEAC Conference as they also had four games on the turf as North Carolina A&T literally smacked Norfolk State upside the head 30-9 as the Aggies defense picked off the Spartans trio collection of quarterbacks 4 times to celebrate their homecoming, South Carolina State celebrated their homecoming by lambasting and putting a shellacking on Howard 41-23 as Richard Cue was on fire with 417 passing yards and not one, not two, not three, but in the words of Moses Malone, fo, fo, fo TD’s, Savannah State was back to their losing ways as they were defeated by Hampton 21-13 as Jeremiah Schwartz ran outside of his mind with 188 rushing yards and 2 TD’s and the Mighty Wildcats of Bethune Cookman battled North Carolina Central for the top spot in the MEAC and the game was tied 14 all at halftime, but the Wildcats said Let’s Go in 2nd half and literally spanked the Eagles 42-17 as Isidore Jackson had 158 ground pounding yards with 2 TD’s.

And for a couple few non MEAC/SWAC scores in the HBCU, Fort Valley State outlasted Morehouse 26-19 to put a damper on their homecoming, in the Augusta Classic, Albany State knocked off Benedict 24-13, Fayetteville State walloped Livingstone 47-29 to win their homecoming, while Tuskegee SHUT OUT Clark Atlanta 14-0 and veering off the HBCU path as my cousin Darius Johnson aka @B1GGDawg75 on Twitter aka Big Diesel and his Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State outmuscled, outplayed and totally outshined, alliteration, I told you I Love It, North Texas 38-21 as Logan Kilgore decimated the Mean Green’s defense with 349 passing yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s and added 45 rushing yards along with a score.

For your Week 9 standings in the in the SWAC, Alabama A&M has been knocked out of the King’s Chair as they fall to #2 and Alabama A&M now sit in the Kings Chair at #1 and Jackson State is now 3rd in the East and in the West, Arkansas Pine Bluff is remains #1 with Prairie View in 2nd place and in the MEAC, Bethune Cookman now is on Top of the Mountain at #1, with Delaware State in 2nd place and North Carolina Central is now 3rd with their loss to the Wildcats.

It could've been me with no clothes, no shoes, and no food to eat. It could've been me, without Your love Lord tell me where would I be…cause it could've been me!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard it yesterday! The Giants on a roll with the
SHUT OUT win over the Tigers
in Game 2 of the World Series
Major League Baseball’s World Series marched on last night with Game 2 as the San Francisco Giants are telling somebody, anybody,  and everybody who will listen that they are here and ready to play as the Giants take Game 2 of the series by getting the SHUT OUT against the Detroit Tigers 2-0 and now lead the series by the same number as Madison Bumgarner pitched 7 strong innings and struck out 8 weak batters to notch the win and Hunter Pence accounted for both runs as he drove in a RBI and scored a run.  In addition, in a feel good story during the game, Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan brutally beaten at Dodger Stadium on opening day 2011, attended Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday night as a guest of the team.  Praize God!

Doug Martin couldn't be
stopped as the Bucs
steamroll the Vikings 36-17
The National Football League showcased their Thursday Night Football last night as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis and the Bucs jumped all over the Vikings as they held 20-10 lead at halftime.  The Vikings tried to mount a comeback in the 2nd half as Adrian Peterson scored a TD, but the Bucs were not going to be denied as they tacked on 16 more points and went on to manhandled, mangle and maul alliteration, I Love It, the Vikings 36-17 as Josh Freeman passed for 262 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s and Doug Martin was a beast as he ran the rock for 135 yards and a score and he also had 79 receiving yards with another score.
