The MEAC Conference
was getting down to the nitty
gritty with five in conference games starting Florida A&M getting their venom
drained by Howard 17-10 as Greg McGhee accounted for 2 TD’s, one in the air on
the one the ground and running back Terrence LeFAll rushed for 102 yards, South
Carolina State was outplayed, outmuscled and totally
outdone by North Carolina
Central 40-10 in Indianapolis for the annual Circle City Classic as quarterback
Jordan Reid accounted for 2 TD’s, Delaware State notched the 3 point win over
Norfolk State 20-17 with 206 passing yards from Nick Elko and 2 scores, while
Morgan State continued the tradition
thus far this season and pummeled, pulverized and pounded Savannah State 45-6 as Travis Davidson Showed
Up…..huh and he Showed Out with 125 receiving
yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s and the Mighty Wildcats of Bethune Cookman
had their homecoming against North Carolina A&T and the Wildcats clawed
up the Aggies 28-12 Quentin Williams threw the rock for
128 yards, rushed the rock for 111 yards and scored the rock not uno, not dos,
but tres times.
Popping HBCU
marching band type of 90’s over to the SWAC Conference as they also had five in
conference games on the Grid Iron as Texas Southern was SHUT
OUT and literally
spanked by Alabama State 45-
ZERO, 45 – NOTHING, 45 – ZILCH as Isaiah Crowell ran
the rock anywhere he wanted with 149 yards and
2 TD’s, Southern couldn’t handle Alcorn State and was defeated 20-17 as John
Gibbs passed for 192 yards and a score, Jackson State was dominated by Arkansas
Pine-Bluff 34-24 as Dennis ‘Was A Menace’ Jenkins to the Tigers defensive line
with 154 ground pounding yards and 2 TD’s, while Grambling continues to have a
season like Savannah State in the MEAC as they have not won one game thus far
as Prairie View manhandled the Tigers 31-14 as
Jerry Lovelocke showed his receivers some love with 199 passing yards and a
score and running back Courtney Brown broke tackles on the way to 130 rushing
yards and a score and Mississippi Valley State was SHUT OUT and literally spanked by Alabama A&M
35 – ZERO, 35 – 0 NIL, 35 – NADA, NADA…NADA, NADA….hey, hey, hey
that means NOTHING as Deaunte Mason rained on the Delta Devils homecoming
with 235 passing yards and 13 rushing yards as he accounted for not
one, not two, but three TD’s.
And for a couple
few non MEAC/SWAC scores, Elizabeth City State was crushed by Virginia
State28-17, Fayetteville State was hammered by Shaw 45-28, Central
State lost their homecoming to Missouri S&T 27-21, Livingstone also lost
their homecoming to St. Augustine U 32-27, while Tuskegee blasted Morehouse 21-14,
Miles actually won their homecoming as they annihilated Clark Atlanta
28-17 and Fort Valley State walloped, whipped and whacked, alliteration, I
