Randy Moss on his way to his 159th TD in MNF against the Cardinals |
The
National Football League showcased their anticipated Monday Night Football game
last night as the San Francisco 49er’s faced off against the St. Louis
Cardinals and Alex Smith had a night to be remembered as he completed 18 of 19
passes for 232 yards and not one, not two, but three TD’s as one TD went to Randy Moss as he simply pushed
aside and dodged defenders on his way to tie Terrell Owens for
fourth on the NFL career touchdown list with 156. As the 49er’s passing game was humming
right along, their running just enough to keep the Cardinals defense off
balance with a total of 113 yards from five different rushers which compared to
the Cardinals running game of 7 total yards, yes you heard correctly, 7 total
yards…..shux, I could have them 7 yards myself….huh, nonetheless
comma I digress as the 49er’s went on to pound, pulverize and pummel, alliteration, I
Love it, the Cards 24-3 as the Cardinals became the 3rd team in NFL
history to win four games to start the season off and the loose the next four
games…ouch.

Atlanta Falcons not only have the best record in the NFL, but they are still undefeated |
As
we basically half through the NFL season, here are your standings midway
through the season in the National Football Conference as the New York
‘Football’ Giants lead the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles 2nd,
the Chicago Bears lead the NFC North with the Minnesota Vikings and the Green
Bay Packers tied for 2nd, while the Atlanta Falcons are the only
undefeated team in the league as they sit atop the NFC South with the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers several games behind and with their win last night, the San Francisco
49er’s created more room between them and the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC
West.
For
your Quick NFL Hits, Michael Vick hasn't been benched by Philadelphia Eagles
coach Andy Reid, according to multiple media reports as he continues to be the
starting quarterback, the NFL has moved its trade deadline back two days to
Thursday because of potential complications from Hurricane Sandy, Indianapolis
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano made it back to the team complex for a short
staff meeting Monday since being diagnosed and treated for a form of leukemia
September 26 and they also waived running back Mewelde Moore and nose tackle
Antonio Dixon, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings was scheduled to
undergo a sports hernia surgery for a torn abdominal muscle in Philadelphia on
Tuesday, but coach Mike McCarthy said Monday it was postponed because of the super
storm on the East Coast, and finally, Joe Mays of the Denver Broncos is out for
the season after suffering a broken left leg in the Broncos win on Sunday.
