NFL Quick Hits w/ Chuck Pagano & Joe Mays & NL MLB Scores: 10/2, Vol. 239, 2nd Edition

Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

The Washington Nationals
captured the NL East Title!
The National League had eight games running the bases in Major League Baseball as the Philadelphia Phillies SHUT OUT the Washington Nationals 2-0, but the Nationals still wrap up the NL East Title regardless of the loss, the Atlanta Braves lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 as Starling Marte homered, the New York Mets was defeated by the Miami Marlins 3-2 with the 37th homer from Giancarlo Stanton, the Houston Astros SHUT OUT the Chicago Cubs 3-0 as the Astros are trying to make some noise at the end of a loooooong season, the San Diego Padres couldn’t handle the Milwaukee Brewers and lost 5-3 as Rickie Weeks belted his 21st homer, while the Cincinnati Reds lost to the defending champs St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 as Jaime Garcia not only gets the win, but also homered for the 1st time this season, the Colorado Rockies got past the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5 with Willin Rosario’s 28th homer and the San Francisco Giants lost to the LA Dodgers 3-2 as Andre Ethier homered for the 20th time.

For your NFL Quick Hits, in off the field news, Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been diagnosed with leukemia and is expected to be hospitalized six to eight weeks as he undergoes treatment, may God provide a healing for your situation, an MRI exam found no structural damage to Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker's left (non-throwing) shoulder, coach Mike Munchak said Monday, the Houston Texans voiced their frustration with the play of Tennessee Titans offensive tackle David Stewart following Sunday's contest between the AFC South rivals as multiple members of the Texans' defense told the Houston Chronicle that Stewart used "dirty" tactics, claiming that he attempted to pull Brooks Reed's hair and threw punches throughout the contest, the Denver Broncos have placed center J.D. Walton on injured reserve with a broken and dislocated left ankle, and finally, getting suspended a game and fined $50,000 for his hit on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub isn't going to make Broncos middle linebacker Joe Mays change his style as he says he will continue to play the he’s been playing.
