Rd. 1 of NFL, WNBA Playoffs, ALDS & MLS Scores: 10/8, Vol. 243, 1st Edition

Love me in Your arms, You were my shelter from the storm; when all my friends were gone, You were right there all along. I never knew a love like this before; oh I just want to say that I love You more than anything!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you heard it last week! I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

The 49er's jumped all over
the Bills 45-3
The National Football League had it going on yesterday as I kick off your Round One NFL scores as the Atlanta Falcons battered and bruised the Washington Redskins to improve to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history as Matt Ryan continued his air assault with 345 yards and 2 TD’s and on a side note, Robert Griffin, III, quarterback for the Redskins was knocked out of the game with a concussion, the Seattle Seahawks got past the Carolina Panthers 16-12 as the Seahawks defense was swarming as they overcame 2 INT’s by Russell Wilson, the Chicago Bears literally spanked the Jacksonville Jaguars 41-3 with 292 yards from Jay Cutler along with 2 scores, the Minnesota Vikings simply manhandled the Tennessee Titans 30-7l as Percy Harvin notched 108 receiving yards and 2 scores, with one coming from rushing the ball, while the Denver Broncos defense and fumbles helped the New England Patriots get the 31-21 win as Tom Brady passed for 223 yards and a score and the Buffalo Bills was literally spanked 45-3 by the San Francisco 49er’s and Alex Smith was hot with 303 yards and not one, not two, but not three TD’s.

The Lynx advance to the
WNBA Finals to defend
their title
The Ladies of the WNBA had one playoff game on the hard-court yesterday as the defending champs Minnesota Lynx eked out a one point win over the LA Sparks 80-79 despite a huge game from Candace Parker, but the Lynx were led by Semione Augustus’ 21 points and Maya Moore chipped in 20 points as the Lynx get a chance to defend their title.

The American League playoffs continued in the Major League Baseball as the Oakland A’s lost to the Detroit Tigers 5-4 as the Tigers take a 2-0 series lead with the help of Don Kelly’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th and the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles kicked off their ALDS and the game was locked in a 2-2 tie until Russell Martin belted a tie breaking homer in the 9th and the Yankees went on to crush the O’s 7-2 to take 1-0 series lead.

Major League Soccer had a few games kicking around last night as the Columbus Crew played to a 1-1 tie against the Sporting Kansas City, Chivas USA also play to a 1-1 tie against FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders FC SHUT OUT the Portland Timbers 3-0.
