We don't deserve things, you get what you get”, free agent junior middleweight titleholder Cornelius "K9" Bundrage, hoping for a major fight in the 154-pound division, has signed a multi-fight promotional agreement with Golden Boy Promotions as he was formerly with Don King, middleweight world champion Sergio Martinez has decided he will have surgery on his right knee and will undergo the arthroscopic procedure in Spain to repair a partially torn meniscus, Susie Wolff is just the fourth woman in a decade to drive a Formula One car as she completed 62 miles of Silverstone's international circuit on Wednesday, for the second straight year, Tiger Woods will begin his new golf year in the Middle East, committing Wednesday to play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, a European Tour event, Kentucky star freshman Nerlens Noel has been cleared to practice and play with the Wildcats after his eligibility came into question this past summer when NCAA officials reportedly began investigating his recruitment process, Davidson will remain in the Southern Conference after turning down an invitation to join the Colonial Athletic Association.

Big East Commissioner Mike Aresco announced that the conference and Madison Square Garden have reached a new multiyear agreement to keep the Big East men's basketball tournament at MSG, a Los Angeles judge has dismissed a defamation lawsuit brought by former UCLA player Reeves Nelson against Time Inc., the parent company of Sports Illustrated, and a reporter who wrote a story about problems in the school's basketball program, Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson cleared the final hurdle toward getting back to the field, as the redshirt freshman successfully completed concussion testing and was cleared by team doctors to return to practice Wednesday,  NHL labor negotiations will resume today after the players' union reviewed management's proposal and saw it as only a small step forward to ending the month-long lockout, Wednesday night's Game 4 of the AL Championship Series between the Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees was delayed for about 1 hour, 10 minutes because of anticipated storms in the area, which had not arrived when the game was officially called, but did come later Wednesday night, what began as a casual, joking conversation between New York Yankees president Randy Levine and Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria about the possibility of Alex Rodriguez playing for the Marlins may develop into serious trade talks this offseason, according to a source with knowledge of the conversation,  Derek Jeter's ability to be ready for Opening Day next season is in question after the New York Yankees' 38-year-old shortstop elected to have surgery on his broken ankle that will require four to five months of recovery time, the Milwaukee Brewers say veteran reliever Livan Hernandez and catcher Yorvit Torrealba have become free agents after refusing outright assignments to the minor leagues, and finally, after having a ball delivered to two female fans in the Yankee Stadium crowd during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series, Alex Rodriguez, who had been removed from the game for a pinch hitter, had written a note on the ball in search of one of the women's phone numbers and had a ball boy deliver it to the fans…..no wonder he’s in such a slump, he’s focused on the wrong thing….huh?!
