The
National Football League showcased their weekly Thursday Night Football game as
the Seattle Seahawks was matched up against the San Francisco 49er’s as the
game started out as a defensive slug fest as the Seahawks took a 6-3 lead into
half-time, but the 2nd half all belong to the 49er’s as Frank Gore churned out 131 ground
pounding yards as the 49er’s clipped the wings of
the Seahawks 13-6.

Major
League Baseball had one game playoff game to wrap up last night as the Detroit Tigers were looking to get the sweep against New York Yankee in the American
League Championship Series and they did just that as the manhandled the Yankees 8-1 with
2 homers from Jhonny Peralta and Matt Scherzer struck out 10 batters to notch
the win as the Tiger sweep the series 4-0.
The
National League Championship Series got a little closer to ending as well as
the St. Louis Cardinals blasted the San Francisco Giants 8-3 as Hunter
Pence and Pablo Sandoval each homered as the Cards take a dominating 3-1 series
lead.
For
your NBA Quick Dribbles, the Minnesota Timberwolves got a bit of good news
Thursday when doctors told All-Star Kevin Love that he wouldn't need surgery on
his broken right hand, but the team will need to figure out on how to replace
his 26 points and 13 rebounds a game for the next six to eight weeks, David
Howman, the director general of the World Anti-Doping Agency says the NBA's
anti-doping program is insufficient and stated "They've got gaps in their
program, between what they do and what we suggest would be better",
Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson said Thursday he remains optimistic a contract
extension can be worked out before the October 31 deadline for fourth-year
players, and finally, Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill returned to
practice Thursday, less than two weeks after being diagnosed with a herniated
disk in his back, but he was not cleared for any contact and will not play in
the Lakers' exhibition game in Las Vegas against the Sacramento Kings tonight.
