Indiana Fever Shavonte Zellous'
last second shot notched
the win of the Connecticut Sun
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the WNBA concluded last night with the Connecticut Sun taking on the Indiana Fever and the game was close throughout as Asjha Jones of the Sun had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough as Katie Douglas of the Fever poured in 24 points but most importantly, Shavonte Zellous’ jumper with .5 seconds left in game sealed the deal as the Fever outlast the Sun 78-76 as the Fever tie the series 1 game apiece and will play a decisive game 3 on Thursday.

The National League continued their NLDS last night as the defending champs St. Louis Cardinals literally spanked the Washington Nationals 12-4 as Carlos Beltran blasted 2 homeruns to help the Cards tie the series 1-1.

For your NFL Quick Hits, Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is optimistic that Robert Griffin III will play next weekend after the rookie quarterback suffered a concussion in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing was taken out of Monday night's game against the New York Jets with a left knee injury, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu won't play Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans because of the right calf muscle injury he aggravated in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker clarified a comment he made about coach Bill Belichick after Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos, saying it was not intended to be serious, and finally, Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson has a Lisfranc foot injury that is expected to sideline him eight weeks and could end his season if doctors determine he needs surgery.
