Houston Dynamo edged the
Chicago Fire to advance in
the playoffs
Major League Soccer had one match on the soccer field last night as the Chicago Fire lost by a goal to Houston Dynamo 2-1.

DeAngelo Hall could face
suspension/fines for
berating ref
For your NFL Quick Hits, after taking off his helmet and berating head linesman Dana McKenzie, Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall, is facing NFL discipline for his incident with the official that led to his ejection Sunday, said Tuesday in a radio interview that the official "was equally at fault, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's right thumbnail was covered with white tape and put under a media microscope upon his return to the football field Wednesday, but Manning says it’s okay, Hall of Fame defensive specialist Richard Dent, said Wednesday that former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka was the reason the 1985 Chicago Bears didn't repeat as Super Bowl champions, as he didn’t manage the quarterback position correctly with Jim McMahon sidelined with an injury, charges alleging domestic violence filed against Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will not be dismissed, according to Dallas County district attorney Craig Watkins, Indianapolis Colts interim coach Bruce Arians says rookie tight end Coby Fleener and cornerback Vontae Davis will not play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, and finally, arguing that "football has become the site of perhaps the gravest health crisis in the history of sports," lawyers for thousands of former NFL players asked a judge to reject the league's bid to dismiss their lawsuits about concussions.

A town in England will burn
this 30 foot effigy of Lance Armstrong
For your Olympic Sporting News, the New York City Marathon brings in roughly $340 million dollars in revenue impacted to the city and no hurricane, not even Ms. Sandy, can postpone one of the greatest marathon’s in the country as the race is slated to run on Sunday and Mayor Michael Bloomberg stated in part “There's an awful lot of small businesses that depend on these people. We have to have an economy. There's lots of people that have come here”, The International Softball Federation has approved a resolution to merge with baseball's governing body as part of a combined bid for the sports to return to the Olympics in 2020 and finally, Edenbridge in southeast England has built a 30-foot (9-meter) model of Lance Armstrong, not to honor the disgrace American cyclist, but to be burned in effigy during the English town's nationally famous Bonfire Night celebrations….well, there was a song that said burn, baby burn…..huh?!
