NBA Round 2 Scores, Bill Durham Passes Away, NFL w/ Sean Payton & Paul Tagliabue: 11/6, Vol. 264, 2nd Edt'n

         For Round 2 of your NBA scores, the Dallas Mavericks powered past the Portland Trailblazers 114-91 as O. J. Mayo was on fire with 32 points and Darren Collison passed out 13 dimes, the San Antonio Spurs are off to a 4-0 start as they whipped, walloped and whacked the Indiana Pacers 101-79 as Gary Neal lead all scorers with a whopping 17 points, the Golden State Warriors lost by 2 points to the Sacramento Kings 94-92 as DeMarcus Cousins was a beast down low with 23 game points and 15 game high rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers got past the LA Clippers 108-101 as Dion Waiters lead all scorers with 28 points, Kyrie Irving had an unconventional double-double with 24 points and 10 assists and Anderson Varejao put up a double-double as well with 15 points and the same amount of rebounds.


Hall of Famer Broadcaster
             Bill Durham passes away....may God
             rest his soul in peace
         In sporting news, in his final assignment beside his longtime partner in Dr. Jack Ramsey, Hall of Fame Broadcaster Jim Durham called now what was his final NBA game last Tuesday as the lead radio play-by-play voice of the NBA passed away at his home in Tomball, TX, just outside of Houston.  In addition to the NBA, Durham also called games for the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks and had been ESPN Radio since 1996.  In 2011, Durham was awarded the Curt Gowdy Media Award, presented the Illinois Sportscaster of the Year in 1979, 1989 and 1990 and won two Chicago Emmy awards.  He was 65 and may God rest soul in peace.

         For your NFL Quick Hits, Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is winning his battle with leukemia as his physician told The Associated Press that the illness which has sidelined Indy's head coach for more than a month was in complete remission, the NFL has granted the New Orleans Saints permission to negotiate a new contract with suspended head coach Sean Payton, according to a report by the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the league said Monday that a 30-yard touchdown run by Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams against the Washington Redskins should not have counted because of an inadvertent whistle, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue has denied a motion to recuse himself as the arbitrator for the appeals hearing of those current and former New Orleans Saints players who were disciplined in the bounty program, and finally, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Romeo Crennel sacked himself as defensive coordinator, and plans to spend more time with the team's inept offense, while cornerback Stanford Routt was waived and defensive tackle Shaun Smith was signed.
