The Wishbone Creator, Darrel Royal passes away at the age of 88
The
Wishbone Offense will be laid to rest as the creator of the offense, Darrell
Royal, longtime football coach at the University of Texas, passed away at the
age of 88. Royal, who is Texas’ all-time
winningest coach at 167-47-5, won two national championships, 11 Southwest
Conference titles and 10 Cotton Bowls and with 23 year invested at Texas, he
never had a losing season. In 1983,
Royal was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and 1996 the football
stadium was renamed after him titled the Darrell K. Royal Memorial
Stadium. May God rest his soul in peace.
Graham Spanier arraigned and released for his role in the Sandusky case

Tom Osborne to awarded The Distiguished American Award
Tom
Osborne, the former Nebraska football coach who will retire as the school's
athletic director on January 1, is the recipient of the Walter Camp Football
Foundation "Distinguished American" Award as the award is presented
to "an individual who has used his or her talents to attain great success
in business, private life or public service and who may have accomplished that
which no other has done”, the NHL and NHL Players' Association held secret
