Dickey has reached an agreement with the Toronto Blue Jays on a two-year, $25 million extension that allowed Toronto and the New York Mets to complete their trade, shortstop Stephen Drew has agreed to a one-year contract, $9.5 million dollar contract with the Boston Red Sox, two people with knowledge of the negotiations say the Oakland Athletics have agreed to sign shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima of Japan's Seibu Lions to a $6.5 million, two-year contract,  the Houston Astros wanted to add power to their lineup and a veteran presence to their young team and they think they got both by signing Carlos Pena on Monday Cody Rogers, a minor league outfielder in the Tampa Bay organization has been suspended 50 games after refusing to take an offseason drug test, and finally, University of Connecticut created a memorial scholarship fund and pregame ceremony called the Sandy Hook School Memorial Fund that will offer aid for current students of the elementary school, siblings of those killed and any dependents of the teachers or adults who lost their lives in the shooting Friday morning in Newtown.
