Royce White & The Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Zavier Stringfellow & NHL Lockout: 12-31 - Vol. 300 - 3rd Edition

He has fought every battle and every victory He has won…..He’s marvelous in my eyes.  Oh, what a mighty God, yes, You are the One….He’s marvelous in my eyes!  For your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.

The wait for Royce White to join
the Houston Rockets took another twist
For your NBA Quick Dribbles,  Houston Rockets first-round pick Royce White refused his assignment to Houston's D-League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Sunday in yet another setback to his return to the court as the team and White figures out how to handle his anxiety disorder and overall mental health and White released an almost 500-word statement where he said he wouldn't report to the team and in part stated “I have chosen to not play, because the doctors and I believe it to be unsafe for unqualified Rockets front office personnel to make medical decisions, as they are not mental health professionals”, despite high-profile names like Phil Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy being tossed around, Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King says he has "not contacted anybody" about becoming the permanent replacement for recently fired head coach Avery Johnson and continued to state P. J. Carlisimo is our coach and finally, Los Angeles Lakers forward Antawn Jamison apologized Sunday for comments made after the Lakers' 104-87 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday and expressed his commitment to the team despite his recent lack of playing time.

Kevin Ollie has coached himself
to a contract extension
For your Quick News & Notes, Athletic director Fred Glass issued a statement Sunday saying the NCAA has cleared Jeremy Hollowell of any potential infractions and #5  Indiana will have the freshman forward back tonight at Iowa, Connecticut has given men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie a five-year contract extension worth just more than $7 million that will run through the end of the 2017-18 season,  Zavier O. Stringfellow, who played football at Ferrum College in southwestern Virginia is being mourned and Johnny Bonilla has been arrested for in connection of Stringfellow’s stabbing death and finally, there was no formal negotiating session following Sunday's round of informational discussions between the NHL and NHLPA, but the two sides plan to meet again today, according to the union.
