Women's College B-Ball Scores, NBA News w/ Amir Johnson & NFL News w/ Braylon Edwards & Happy Birthday Mommy!: 12/12, Vol. 287, 2nd Edition

No weapon formed against me shall prosper, it won’t work. God will do what He says He would do; He will stand by His word and He will come through!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y.!

Alyssa Thomas couldn't
                 be stopped against Towson
The Ladies in Women’s College Basketball was back in action after a night off for the ranked teams as 10th ranked Maryland routed, ransacked and romped, Alliteration, I Love It, all over Towson 88-43 as Alyssa Thomas put up a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards and Louisiana Monroe was pasted, pummeled, and pulverized, Alliteration, you know I Love It, by 18th ranked Texas 77-49 as Cokie Reid chipped in 14 points and in the MEAC, Edward Waters was clawed up by the Mighty Wildcats of Bethune Cookman 88-46.

Amir Johnson was suspended for
a game a day after being ejected &
                throwing his mouthpiece
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash believes he will be out a while longer, and the team has begun weighing options to bolster its point guard corps and are considering Delonte West and Eddie House, the NBA D-League is announced a non-traditional sponsorship on Tuesday between the state of Veracruz in Mexico and the Texas Legends as the state's marketing phrase "Veracruz Incomparable" will appear on the front of the team's jerseys beginning Saturday and Veracruz will become the first state in Mexico to have its name on the jerseys of a team that doesn't play there, yesterday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets held a ceremony to commemorate the new home of the Ebbets Field flagpole, and finally, Toronto Raptors forward Amir Johnson was suspended for one game without pay by the NBA on Wednesday for throwing his mouthpiece at a referee in the Raptors' loss at Portland on Monday night…now since Johnson is paid over $73k per game, that makes his mouthpiece one expensive item…..huh?!

For your NFL Quick Hits, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall, the leading rusher for the past three seasons, has been suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team, the Dallas Cowboys paid tribute to Jerry Brown at a private memorial Tuesday that included Josh Brent, the player charged with intoxication manslaughter in the one-car accident that killed his teammate, one week after blasting the New York Jets on Twitter, calling them "idiots," Braylon Edwards is one of them…again as the well-traveled wide receiver reunited Tuesday with the Jets, who acquired him on waivers, the New England Patriots placed veteran wide receiver Donte' Stallworth on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday, and finally, the Chicago Bears placed kicker Robbie Gould on injured reserve because of a calf injury suffered Sunday at Minnesota, and used his roster spot to sign veteran Olindo Mare.

On this day, God allowed a sensational woman to be birthed into this world, which allows me to say Happy Birthday to my marvelous mother and I wish I was there to give you a gigantic and loving hug…..so just hold out your arms and here it is through the radio!  Happy Birthday and we love you!
