Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you heard it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

There were a couple of game three playoff games in the National Hockey League last night for the Eastern Conference and one game three in the Western Conference starting with the New York Rangers getting the SHUT OUT against the Ottawa Senators 1-0 with the lone goal scored by Brian Boyle as the Rangers take a 2-1 series lead, the defending champion Boston Bruins eked out a one goal win 4-3 over the Washington Capitals to take a 2-1 series lead as four different players scored the four goals for the Eastern Conference games and for the Western Conference, the St. Louis Blues got past the San Jose Sharks 4-3 as Carlo Colaicovo had three assists as the Blues take a 2-1 series lead.

The National Basketball Association had a plethora of games on tap last night as the Miami Heat stormed back against the New Jersey Nets to secure the win 101-98 as LeBron James lite up the scoreboard with 37 points, I haven’t used this word in a while as the Chicago Bulls was UPSET by the lowly Washington Wizards 87-84 with a double-double from Kevin Seraphin with 21 points and 13 boards, the Denver Nuggets got a huge win over the Houston Rockets 105-102 with the help of 26 points from Aaron Afflalo, the defending champion Dallas Mavericks lost in not one, not two but three overtimes to the Utah Jazz with 28 points from Al Jefferson and 26 monster rebounds, the Portland Trailblazers were manhandled by the Phoenix Suns 125-107 with 20 points and 10 rebounds from Marcin Gortat, while the San Antonio Spurs devastated the Golden State Warriors 120-99 with 17 points from Gary Neal, the Oklahoma City Thunder were dominated by the Lob City Clippers 92-77 with 19 points from Nick Young, the Minnesota Timberwolves were pummeled by the Indiana Pacers 111-88 as David West netted 22 points, the Orlando Magic had no problems without Dwight Howard last night as they beat the Philadelphia 76er’s 113-110 as Ryan Anderson said Dwight I got your back scored a game high of 26 points and a game high of 16 big boy rebounds, the Atlanta Hawks simply befuddled the Toronto Raptors 109-87 as Josh ‘Smooth’ Smith scored 21 points and the New Orleans Hornets gave the Charlotte Bobcats their 53rd loss of the season and a franchise record of 17 loses in a row as they lost 75-67 to the Hornets with 20 points from Grevis Vasquez….man look ah hear, those boy may need some couch therapy!

Nonetheless comma I digress, here are your current NBA playoff standings, starting with the Eastern Conference as the Chicago Bulls hold the top seed, while the Miami Heat is 2 ½ games back with the 2nd seed, the Indiana Pacers has the 3rd seed, the Boston Celtics is currently sitting on the 4th seed, but the Atlanta Hawks have the same record at the 5th seed, while the Orlando Magic comes in at the 6th seed, as all the aforementioned teams have a clinched a playoff  berth and the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76er’s will fight for the 7th and 8th seeds, with the Milwaukee Bucks having an outside chance in sneaking into the playoff race.  Keep it locked to listen to the current seeding’s in the Western Conference in the second segment.

MLB scores, WNBA Draft, NBA Western Conf, Waterford trophy & USC/ESPN radio deal: 4/17, Vol. 122, 2nd Edt'n

When I was going left, You swerved me right, yes all the way down, you lift me up all night! Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!

Major League Baseball had ten games in action on the diamond last yesterday as the New York Yankees were crushed by the Minnesota Twins 7-3 as Justin Morneau provided a cushion with a home run, the Houston Astros was defeated by the Washington Nationals 6-3 as Stephen Strasburg notched his second win of the season, the Baltimore Orioles needed 10 innings to get past the Chicago White Sox 10-4 as Matt Wieters launched a home run to bring in three runs to end the game, the San Diego Padres demolished the Colorado Rockies 7-1 as Nick Hundley brought in three runs on his own, the Detroit Tigers eked out a one run win against the Kanas City Royals 3-2 as Brandon Inge homered in the 5th, while the Pittsburgh Pirates were hammered by the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 as Chris Young launched a home run, the Oakland A’s were SHUT OUT and annihilated by the LA Angels 6-0 as Kendrys Morales had three go along with his homerun, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the San Francisco Giants 5-2 as Roy Halladay remained undefeated, the New York Mets blasted the Atlanta Braves 6-1 as Ike Davis launched a tiebreaking three run homer to help seal the deal and the Tampa Bay Rays SHUT OUT the Boston Red Sox 1-0 as Sean Rodriguez scored the sole winning run.

The WNBA draft took place yesterday at ESPN in beautiful Bristol, CT and as expected, Nneka Ogwumike went #1 overall to the LA Sparks as she doesn’t have to move far after spending four years at Stanford, the 2nd pick was by the Seattle Storm as they selected Shekinna Stricklen, the 3rd pick landed Devereaux Peters of the Lady Fighting Irish with the Minnesota Lynx, the 4th pick witnessed the Tulsa Shock acquiring Glory Johnson and rounding out the top five picks in the 2012 WNBA draft was Shenise Johnson heading to the San Antonio Silver Stars.  And perhaps next year’s draft will be headlined by another Lady Fighting Irish as her first name starts with an S for sensational and her last name starts with a D for Dynamic….take a wild guess on who it could be…shouldn’t take you long!

And for the current NBA playoff standings for the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder currently sits at the #1 seed with the San Antonio Spurs one game back at the 2nd seed, the LA Lakers are trying to hold on to the 3rd seed with LA Clippers 2 ½ games back at the 4th seed as the previous mentioned teams have clinched a playoff berth, while the Memphis Grizzlies, the Dallas Mavericks, the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns are fighting to do the same and the Houston Rockets are now on the outside trying to look into the playoff race.

The Waterford Trophy has been shattered!  In case you’re wondering on what that is, it’s the shiny crystal football presented to the college football’s national champion and last season, it was presented to Alabama and it valued at $30k dollars.  The trophy was accidently knocked off its podium by a players father and the university will immediately begin process of the replacing the prized Ireland crystal ball.
ESPN Radio and USC announced a multiyear deal on Monday to have the Trojan’s home games broadcast nationally on ESPN Radio.  ESPN 710 has been the flagship station of USC’s football program via radio since 2006 and the broadcasts will be available on up to 300 ESPN affiliates nationwide.
