Everybody blow the trumpet and sound the alarm, because the Lord is in the temple, let everybody bow, let all the people praise Him now….the presence, the power, the spirit and the blessing of Lord is here! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you heard it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

Lebron James (Game 3)
There were only two playoff games in the National Basketball Association battling on the hard court, one in the West and one in the East as the Miami Heat just simply smothered the New York Knicks 80-78 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead as LeBron James poured in 32 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder ran the defending champion Dallas Mavericks out of the gym 95-79 as Kevin Durant had a game high of 31 points as the Thunder also take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

The National Hockey League was skating all over the ice last night with two playoff games as the Philadelphia Flyers were edged out by one goal 4-3 against the New Jersey Devils as Ilya Kovalchuk scored a goal and got 2 assists and the St. Louis Blues were outskated by the LA Kings 4-2 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead as Drew Doughty scored a goal notched 2 assists.

As details began to surface in Junior Seau’s death, the San Diego County medical examiner ruled his untimely passing a suicide.  Chief medical officer for San Joaquin County, Bennet Omalu, will assist in the autopsy of Seau as Omalu is credited with identifying CTE, which stands for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. CTE is a neurological disorder which occurs from repeated head trauma and can lead to erratic behavior and is associated with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.  Omalu’s involvement in Seau’s autopsy will help determine if Seau’s suicide could be related to the increasing number of concussions and football.

In a follow up story on the untimely and shocking passing of Norwegian swimmer Alexander Dale Oen from cardiac arrest, the Australian Olympic Committee has instituted enhanced heart checks of its London-bound team.

MLB Scores, New Orleans Bounty Scandal,Hubert Davis & Terrell Suggs News: 5/4, Vol. 135, 2nd Edt'n

Because of who you are I give you glory, because of who you are I give you praise, because of who you are I will lift my voice and say, Lord I worship you because of who you are!  Welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!

New Orleans Bounty Scandal
After a plethora of games on the diamond in Major League Baseball on Wednesday, there were only and I use the term only lightly, there were only nine games to throw opening pitches as the Seattle Mariners lost by one run to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 with a homerun from Jeff Keepinger, the Cleveland Indians put up a touchdown and an extra point against the Chicago White Sox and won the game 7-5 as Jason Kipnis launched a homerun and drove in 4 RBI’s, the New York Yankees was defeated by the Kansas City Royals 4-3 as Mike Moustakas went yard to give the Royals their first home win of the season and the Toronto Blue Jays SHUT OUT and annihilated the LA Angels 5-0 as Brandon Morrow only allowed 3 hits for your scores in the American League and for scores in the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies SHUT OUT and blasted the Atlanta Braves 4-0 as Shane Victorino belted a homerun, the Chicago Cubs lost in 10 innings against the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 Geovany Sota belted one out of the yard, the Pittsburgh Pirates crushed the defending champions St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 as Erik Bedard struck out 11 batters, while the Miami Marlins swept the San Francisco Giants 3-2 and the Arizona Diamondbacks were knocked off by the Washington Nationals 2-1 as rookie Bryce Harper doubled to bring in a run to wrap up scores in baseball.

In sporting news, as reaction concerning the suspensions of several NFL players in the New Orleans Bounty Scandal continue to be the main topic in sports conversations, the National Football League hired Mary Jo White, former U. S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, to examine their investigation, to ensure they were not leaving any stones unturned.  White concluded that players were paid for hits and the players provided the majority of the funding for the program and stated “the factual basis for the sanctions is quite strong in my opinion and the players sanctioned all activity and enthusiastically embraced this program….they always had the option to say no. They didn't say no.”

Coach Roy Williams of North Carolina’s men’s basketball program got his first option and plucked ESPN analyst Hubert Davis from the broadcasting desk to the sideline as Davis becomes an assistant coach with the Tar Heels program.  Davis, who is an alum of North Carolina stated “I am very excited, thankful and honored to re-join the Carolina basketball program as an assistant to coach Williams and I loved being a part of college basketball during my time at ESPN and now I will have the opportunity to do this on a more personal level at the university and with a basketball program that I have loved my entire life."

For your NFL Quick Hits, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs told ESPN Thursday he partially tore his Achilles tendon during a conditioning drill in Arizona but believes he can return by the middle of the 2012 season, the wife of former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser was convicted Thursday of two felonies in a hit-and-run accident that killed a man, with jurors brushing aside her defense that she never saw him and thought she had hit a construction barrel or pothole, the Jacksonville Jaguars have released cornerback Drew Coleman after one season, parting ways with a player they felt was one-dimensional and finally, wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, best known for a high-top fade haircut and for being released on the night before the Super Bowl, has been cut yet again by the New England Patriots…..brother can’t catch a break. Pun intended!
