Win or go home! In sporting news, all four players suspended in the New Orleans Bounty Scandal, Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Scott Fujita and Anthony Hargrove all appealed their suspensions on Monday. In addition, the player’s union filed a grievance that basically is challenging NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s authority to punish the players since the acts occurred before the current collective bargaining agreement was signed and that a CBA arbitrator should be the person to punish and not the commissioner. In an interesting twist to this situation, Hargrove, who is now with the Green Bay Packers, provided a sworn statement that he was told by ex-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and current Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt to basically lie that the bounty program did not exist and to pretty much play dumb.
