NBA, NHL Playoffs, AL-MLB Scores, Shaq O'neal To The Magic? & NFLPA Sues: 5/24, Vol. 149, 1st Edt'n

There's a leak in this old building and my soul has to move, my soul has got to move, to another building not made by man! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you heard it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

Shaq back to the Magic?
The Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76er’s were back on the hard court last night to battle in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final and the 76er’s wasn’t ready to go home as they knocked off the Celtics 82-75 with Jrue Holiday’s 20 points and Elton Brand’s 10 rebounds as they force a game 7 back in Boston on Saturday.

The National Hockey League continued skating on the ice in the Eastern Conference Finals as the New Jersey Devils out skated the New York Rangers 5-3 as Zach Parise was one of five players to score a goal and the Devils take a 3-2 series lead.

The American League in Major League Baseball was in action yesterday as the Boston Red Sox eked out a one run win over the Baltimore Orioles as the Red Sox had multiple homeruns from a variety of players, the Toronto Blue Jays lost by one run to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 with a walk off RBI from B. J. Upton in the 11th inning, the LA Angels also needed 11 innings to get past the Oakland A's 3-1 with a double from Alberto Callaspo, the Texas Rangers was defeated by the Seattle Mariners 5-3 as Alex Liddi notched his first grand slam, while the Cleveland Indians knocked off the Detroit Tigers 4-2 as Travis Hafner belted his 6th homer of the season, the New York Yankees crushed the Kansas City Royals 8-3 as Alex Rodriguez launched 2 homeruns and the Chicago White Sox SHUT OUT the Minnesota Twins 6-0 with the help of Paul Konerko’s 9th homer of the season.

In sporting news, although I like to bring you news that has actually happened or on the verge of happening, this particular piece of news was too interesting to past up as it has not happened, but according to my multiple sources, it may go down next week.  Dr. Shaquille O’neal may be going back home!  As many of you know, Dr. O’neal started his illustrious career with the Orlando Magic and could perhaps become the team’s next general manager.  Although Dr. O’neal doesn’t have any front office experience, the Magic are eyeing the Big Aristotle to help keep their own big man, Dwight Howard from vacating the Magic uniform.  Orlando president Alex Martins has a strong relationship with Dr. O’neal and O’neal has become a confidant to Howard as both big men didn’t really care for coach Stan Van Gundy, who was fired several days ago.

The NFL Player’s Union has filed a federal lawsuit against the National Football League alleging collusion.  The NFLPA states the league and its owners basically conspired in collusion in 2010, which was an uncapped year, accusing them of having a secret $123 million salary cap.  The suit comes from the NFLPA learning on approximately March 12 that four teams did not operate under the secret salary cap.  I got a feeling this will be a long, litigious battle.

For your London Summer Olympic News, the United States Olympic men's basketball team will open play in London against France at 9:30 a.m. EST on July 29 and the women on July 28 at 11:45 a.m. EST, the two leading members of Saudi Arabia's Olympic equestrian team will miss the London Games after they were banned for eight months Wednesday, Britain will ban leaders guilty of human rights abuses from traveling to the UK for the 2012 London Olympics, a senior British official said Wednesday and finally, Boise's mayor said Wednesday that police recovered all 14 racing bicycles worth $120,00 stolen by thieves who raided the trailer of a professional cycling team that is trying to get its top rider to the London Olympics.  Wow, now those are some serious bicycles….huh!
