NFL News W/ Drew Brees, Brandon Jacobs & Chad Ochocinco, NBA Playoffs & AL-MLB Scores: 6/8, 160, 1st Edt'n

I've been wandering around in the dark...been lost somewhere where no light could shine on my heart. I have known a pain so deep, but I know my faith will free me! Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Le’ Go!

LeBron James helped force
Game 7 in Eastern Conference Finals
The Western Conference Finals have wrapped and the Oklahoma City Thunder now awaits which team comes out of the Eastern Conference Finals as the Boston Celtics are back on their court and getting some home cooking as they battled the Miami Heat in Game 6, but the home cooking the C’s received made them a little ill as they came out flat and the Heat put a man size spanking on them 98-79 and LeBron James personally took control of the game lite up the scoreboard for 45 points and 15 big boy rebounds as the series is tied 3 games all and head back to South Beach, much to the adulation of Steven A. Smith, for Game 7 on Saturday where the winner takes all.

There were a couple few day games in the American League as they had five games on the diamond yesterday as the Cleveland Indians was defeated by the Detroit Tigers 7-5 with Miguel Cabrera’s 13th homer of the season, the Texas Rangers were blasted by the Oakland A’s 7-1 as Coco Crisp launches his 1st homer of the season and the A’s win a rare series, while the Tampa Bay Rays pounded the New York Yankees 7-3 as David Price wins his 8th game of the season, which is the most in the AL, the Baltimore Orioles were SHUT OUT and hammered by the Boston Red Sox 7-0 as Clay Buchholz pitched a 4 hit shut-out and the Chicago White Sox get a walk off hit from  Orlando Hudson as they get past the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3.

Chad Ochocinco is not having a good stretch these past several weeks as his vehicle was broken into, him and his bride cannot find a venue in South Beach that will allow them to record their reality TV show showcasing their wedding and now this…..Ochocino was released by the New England Patriots on Thursday.  The Patriots tried trading Ocho, but released the wide receiver instead who struggled learning the playbook in his only season with organization.

For your NFL Quick Hits, scores of lawsuits involving thousands of former players touched by concussions and brain injuries have been consolidated into one master complaint, setting up a massive and potentially costly case for the NFL as the ex-players accused the league of hiding information that linked football-related head trauma to permanent brain injuries, the Philadelphia Eagles have reshaped the top of their front office as longtime Eagles president Joe Banner is transitioning to a new role as a strategic adviser to team owner Jeffrey Lurie, while former chief operating officer Don Smolenski is being promoted to president and as a result, a shift in responsibility for all football operations to coach Andy Reid and general manager Howie Roseman, New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis submitted a revised contract proposal to Drew Brees' representatives as  the two sides were approximately $2 million dollars apart, a spokesman for the Cleveland Browns says the team is not for sale, refuting a report the NFL franchise might be on the market, the Jacksonville Jaguars have release often injured defensive end Aaron Kampman on Thursday, five days before the start of a mandatory, three-day minicamp, a judge has ordered the arrest of Charles Rogers after the former Detroit Lions wide receiver failed to appear at a court hearing in Saginaw following his charged of making a malicious phone call and conspiring to commit that crime on March 5 and 6, and possessing marijuana, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license in December,  Santonio Holmes of the New York Jets, pulled himself out of practice Thursday because he felt he was unfairly overworked by coaches, Wade Davis, who played in college at Weber State and spent the 2000 and 2002 preseasons with the Tennessee Titans, revealed that he is gay, and finally, after learning that former Super Bowl champion of the New York Giants Brandon Jacobs was leaving the team because the Giants couldn’t due to money, 6 year old Joe Armento emptied his piggy bank and sent Jacobs $3.36 to return to the team and Jacobs was so touch by the gesture, that he tweeted out the letter and will surprise the kid with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese with his own son.

Pete Carroll gives
Brian Banks a try out
The National League had some day games swinging their backs in Major League Baseball with seven games pitching off as the New York Mets got the best of the Washington Nationals 3-1 as R. A. Dickey won his 9th game with 8 strikeouts, the LA Dodgers walloped the Philadelphia Phillies 8-3 as the Dodgers swept the series, the Chicago Cubs took the Milwaukee Brewers to 10 innings, but lost by one run 4-3 as Norichika Aoki belted 2 homers, especially one in the 10th inning that sealed the deal with a walk off, the San Francisco Giants outmuscled the San Diego Padres 8-3 as 3 Giants launched a homerun a piece, while the Pittsburgh Pirates got past the Cincinnati Reds 5-4 with 2 homeruns from Ryan Chadwick, the Atlanta Braves demolished the Miami Marlins 8-2 as Jason Heyward homered twice and the defending champions St. Louis Cardinals literally spanked the Houston Astros 14-2 as David Freese got his 12th homer off of 2 homeruns last night.

The semi-finals at the French Open kicked off for the women as 2nd seeded Maria Sharapova had no problems with 4th seeded Petra Kvitova and advanced to the finals 6-3, 6-3 and Sara Errani needed 3 sets 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 to get past Samantha Stosur.

In a feel good sporting news story, I have been reporting on Brian Banks who was recently was exonerated from a rape conviction that sent him to prison for five years and two months and his dreams of college football and ultimately playing in the National Football League vanished.  But since his conviction was overturned, God has been actively working to repair his life and one of those reparations occurred yesterday as he was invited to try out for the Seattle Seahawks.  I am pleased to report that his tryout went so well that coach Pete Carroll invited Banks back to participate in a formal tryout next week during the Seahawks mandatory offseason minicamp and Carroll stated “this is just one step but it's a step he's been dreaming about for a long time. And it's just such a great illustration about not giving up and competing for what you want and not let your circumstances or surroundings dictate what is going to happen in your life.”  Banks obviously was on an emotional high and stated “this is by far the second best day of my life…May 24, my day of exoneration, and today….just being out here on the field and work(ing) out with the Seahawks and to be given an opportunity to have a tryout, I don't really have words for it. It's a dream come true.”  Banks and his agent will have to decide to accept the Seahawks offer as he has visits scheduled with five other teams.  Brian, may God continue to pour out Blessings while you are this journey that you won’t have room for!

Major League Baseball and its players' association decided there will be no written decision in the case overturning Ryan Braun's drug suspension, while also changing the rules that allowed the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder to get his 50-game penalty thrown out.

Boston mayor Thomas Menino has a dubious history of blunders and mispronunciations when talking about the city's sports teams and mentioned KJ instead of KG and Hondo versus Rondo when talking to reporters and later tweeted, “you know its championship season when I flub our athletes' names! Sorry KG & Rondo, it's kind of my thing…another Menino-ism”
