If haven’t you been living under a rock, then you already know the Miami Heat used a 4th quarter throttle to get past the Boston Celtics on Saturday night to advance to the NBA Finals for the second straight year.  However comma if you have been, come out for moment to tune into C.E.E.J.A.Y.! Sports to get the latest and the greatest.  The NBA Finals will tip off on Tuesday night as the aforementioned Heat will travel to OKC for Game 1 against the Thunder.  It will match up two of the most prolific offenses and stingiest defenses against one another and more importantly, it will showcase the 3 time reigning MVP in LeBron James against the 3 time reigning scoring champion in Kevin Durant.

The New Jersey Devils are delaying the LA Kings celebration for their first Stanley Cup since being up 3 games to zero and the Devils have won 2 games in row to force Game 6 back in LA and the puck will drop tonight at 8pm EST.

Maria Sharapova cruised to a victory over Sara Errani 6-2, 6-3 to win her first French Open and became the 10th woman to with a career Grand Slam.  The men were battling in the French Open final round as Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal were hampered by a series of rain delays and the match resumed this morning and Nadal went on to win his record 7th French Open title 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.


It wasn’t the fight of the year, but it will be the fight that will be talked about until the re-match in November as Manny Pacquiao was defeated in a surprise split decision against Timothy Bradley in 12 rounds who promised to shock the world and challenged Pacquiao to break down his wall, despite Bradley breaking his left foot in the 2nd round. And in the undercard, Randall Bailey and Mike Jones, who Mike Jones, danced around for 9+ rounds much to the chagrin of the crowd, but in the 11th round Baily KNOCKED OUT Jones with a clean right punch to win the vacant welterweight title.  On Friday Night Fights, former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik KO’d Scott ‘Cujo’ Sigman in the 7th round and Eleider Alvarez unanimously won defeated Shawn Hawk to retain his North American Boxing Organization light heavyweight title….that was mouthful.

And the most anticipated horse racing event of the year fizzled days before it started as I’ll Have Another retired due to a swollen tendon prior to The Belmont Stakes and Union Rags promptly step up to win the race by neck photo finish against Paynter.

The ladies were balling yesterday in the WNBA as the Atlanta Dream were annihilated by the Connecticut Sun 92-73 with a double-double from Tina Charles as she became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 50 career double-doubles and the Chicago Sky defeated the New York Liberty 73-64 with 26 points from Epiphanny Prince.

Another round of Interleague games tool place in American League stadiums as the LA Dodgers lambasted the Seattle Mariners 8-2 with a Grand Slam from Andre Ethier, the New York Yankees got past the New York Mets 5-4 as Russell Martin belted 2 homers and one was walk-off that sealed the deal, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 in 10 innings, the Boston Red Sox outlasted the Washington Nationals 4-3, while the Houston Astros pounded the Chicago White Sox 11-9 with 4 homeruns and the Chicago Cubs blasted the Minnesota Twins 8-2.

In sporting news, Brian Banks has accepted the Seattle Seahawks offer for a formal tryout at the team’s minicamp starting Tuesday after finishing a workout on Friday at the San Diego Chargers.  However, he will have a busy week since he will a workout today with the Kansas City Chiefs.  May God continue to grant him the strength and to open eyes to see his talents.

There was only one National League in Major League Baseball as the Milwaukee Brewers eked out a one run win against the San Diego Padres 6-5 with Ryan Bruan’s 15th homer of the season and in Interleague games in National League stadiums, the Detroit Tigers also eked out a one run win 7-6 over the Cincinnati Reds with a homerun from Austin Jackson, the Toronto Blue Jays literally spanked the Atlanta Braves 12-4 with a homerun from Colby Rasmus, the Cleveland Indians defeated the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 4-1 as Jason Kipnis belted a homer in the 9th inning, while the LA Angels got past the Colorado Rockies 10-8 with Mark Trumbo’s 2 homers, the Texas Rangers SHUT OUT and clobbered the San Francisco Giants 5-0 and the Oakland A’s lost by a run to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3.

With 3 laps remaining, Joey Logano bumped Mark Martin out of the way after Martin had taken the lead with 8 laps remaining and Logano went on to capture the checkered flag at NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series at Pocono for his first win since 2009, while the aforementioned Martin placed 2nd, Tony Stewart came in 3rd, Jimmie Johnson rolled into the 4th position and Denny Hamlin round out the top 5.  NASCAR’s Camping World Truck series witnessed Johnny Sauter becoming the 7th driver to win the first 7 races as he captured the checkered flag at the WinStar World Casino 400.

The clubs were swinging in the FedEx St. Jude Classic at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, TN with a purse of $5.6 million dollars as Dustin Johnson won his first event after almost three months from the tour with a back injury with a 9 under par, one shot better than John Merrick, who placed 2nd, and a quarto of players that included Chad Campbell, Nick O’Hern, Davis Love, III and the Ryan Palmer all tied for third.

There was one Major League Soccer game yesterday as the Vancouver Whitecaps mustered past the Houston Dynamo 3-1.

The Florida Gators got past North Carolina State 9-8 in 10 innings and will either face off against South Carolina or Oklahoma in opening round game in the College World Series and Arizona earned their first trip to the big diamond by defeating St. John’s 7-4.
