Brian Banks, NBA Finals & MLB Scores,Olympic News (Say Nope 2 Dope): 6-15, Vol. 165, 1st Edt'n

Our God is an awesome God, he reigns from heaven above with wisdom, power and love…our God is an awesome God!  Good morning and welcome back to your Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema Gospel Radio better than when you it yesterday, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Here We Go!

Brian Banks2nd day of
tryouts with the Seattle Seahawks
The National Basketball Association tipped of Game number 2 of the NBA Finals as the LeBron James and his Miami Heat were looking to bounce back after a 2nd half collapse in Game 1 against Kevin Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena and the Heat came out running and gunning to basically get the wire-to-wire win despite 32 points from Kevin Durant, who notched the most points in the first two 4th quarters of a NBA Finals with 33 points, but was plagued with foul trouble the entire game.  Which opened the door for LeBron James to score almost as many points as KD with 32 and Dwayne Wade bounced back with 24 points as the Heat knotted up the series 1-1 and will play three consecutive games in South Beach.

Major League Baseball continued with their annual Interleague Games yesterday however comma I digress as I give you the lone National League score as the Houston Astros looked to get a win after an embarrassing, but history making SHUT OUT and perfect game pitched my Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night, but the night belong to the Astros as they got the win 6-3 with a Grand Slam from J. D. Martinez and now onto the Interleague Games in the American League stadium as the Arizona Diamondbacks manhandled the Texas Rangers 11-3 with 3 homers from 3 different Diamondbacks, the Milwaukee Brewers lost by a run 4-3 to the Kansas City Royals and a homer from Eric Hosmer, while the Philadelphia Phillies demolished the Minnesota Twins 6-1 as Joe Blanton captured the complete game win, the San Diego Padres outmuscled the Seattle Mariners 6-2 and the New York Mets outlasted the Tampa Bay Rays 9-6 with 2 homeruns from Kirk Nieuwenhuis as they completed the sweep.

In sporting news, Brian Banks completed his tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs and jet setted for his second visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday and Banks thought the workout was overwhelming.  However, he tremendously was thankful for the opportunity to be on field with a team for a day.  Linebackers coach Ken Norton, Jr. hammered Banks on what he did incorrectly, but equally dished out positive comments when his performance excelled and stated “does he make a good first impression? He made a great first impression. Really bright, really smart, well spoken. He has a great memory. He remembers everything you tell him and that's a great plus at this point.” Banks participated in another tryout yesterday and eagerly waits on what the Seahawks next will be with him.

For your London Summer Olympic News, Lance Armstrong's lawyers demanded access to evidence gathered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, including the names of witnesses who said they saw the seven-time Tour de France champion using performance-enhancing drugs, organizers of Ironman France say Lance Armstrong can no longer compete in the triathlon this month after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency filed new charges that he doped as a Tour de France cyclist. Whatever happened innocent until proven guilty? Wow. The United States rowing squad for the London Games has been completed after three crews won finals at the national Olympic trials, American sprinters Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin will compete at the French stage of the Diamond League meet July 6 and the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt will not, and finally, Turkish weightlifting champion Nurcan Taylan has been banned for four years for doping and will miss the London Olympics…remember kids, say nope to the dope or you will lose all hope because the dope ain’t no joke! Huh!

The 112th U. S. In sporting news, despite Eric LeGrange, the former Rutgers football player who was paralyzed after suffering a spinal cord injury during a game against Army in 2010, the young and determined fellow is having a stellar year.  First, he was signed to a symbolic contract by the Tampa Bay Bucs in May as his former college coach is now the coach the Bay area Bucs and secondly, it was announced yesterday that LeGrange has been selected to receive the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPY’s in July.
