The Tiger was lurking after sharing the lead at one point during the 112th U. S. Open and proceeded to lose his way as Webb Simpson secured his first PGA Tour major victory with 1 over par and Michael Thompson and Graeme McDowell tied for 2nd host of players tied for 4th.

There were only five games swinging their bats in Interleague games in National League stadiums as the Boston Red Sox had their with the Chicago Cubs 7-4 as Big Papi Ortiz belted his 16th homer, the New York Yankees cruised past the Washington Nationals 4-1 with Curtis Granderson’s 21st homer of the season, the Baltimore Orioles SHUT OUT    the Atlanta Braves 2-0, the Kansas City Royals defeated the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 5-3 Yuniesky Betancourt launches a homer in the 15th inning to help secure the win and the Chicago White Sox lost to the LA Dodgers 2-1 as the Dodgers rallied in the 9th to seal the deal in the 10th.
