In breaking news as announced on my Twitter page yesterday, Roger Clemens, who was on a re-trial that he lied about using performing enhancing drugs, was acquitted on all charges that he obstructed and lied to Congress.  Clemens had maintained his innocence all while the government spent untold millions of dollars seeking a conviction, that apparently never existed

There were five games on the diamond in National League stadiums for Interleague games as the Baltimore Orioles were SHUT OUT and crushed the New York Mets 5-0 as R. A. Games on the collegiate diamond continued yesterday in two Double Elimination Rounds as Florida was knocked off by Kent State 5-4 thus eliminating the Gators and the Arkansas got past South Carolina.

Forbes released their annual 100 highest paid athletes list and the person at the number one spot can’t spend a dime of it as he sits in jail.  If guessed Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, you would be correct as he raked in $85 million dollars last year and continues to legitimize is nickname.  Second on list is the guy he will probably never fight in Manny Pacquaio with $62 million and the guy would had one of the biggest falls from grace came in third with $59.4 million dollars in earnings and that would be Tiger Woods.  Coming in fourth place is LeBron James of the Miami Heat with $53 million, Roger Federer takes the fifth spot with $52.7 million, Kobe Bryant settles in at the sixth spot with $52.3 million, while Phil Mickelson earned $47.8 million to claim the seventh spot, David Beckham made slightly less, if you consider that to be less, with $46 million for the eighth spot, another soccer player made $42.5 million, as Cristiano Ronaldo ranks ninth and the person who didn’t play a down last year in the NFL rounds out the top ten with $42.4 in earning from Peyton Manning.

Mike Tyson is going to Broadway!  Iron Mike is teaming up with one most insightful directors of our time who brought Do The Right Thing, School Daze, Get On The Bus & Malcolm X, just to name a few to big screen as Spike Lee will direct Tyson’s one man show titled ‘Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth’ about the peaks and valleys of the former dominating heavyweight and the show will run from July 31 to August 5 at the Longacre Theatre.

For your NFL Quick Hits, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell held appeals hearings Monday in the Saints bounty case for four suspended players, who complained that the process is unfair and the league hasn't proved anything, a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was dropped by Dallas County prosecutors Monday, first round pick Fletcher Cox and the Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a four-year contract on Monday,  New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, a key to the settlement of last year's lockout even though his wife was dying from cancer, has won the George Halas Award, which is given by the Professional Football Writers of America to a player, coach or staff member who overcomes the most adversity to succeed, and finally, R.C. Owens, a longtime San Francisco 49ers front office man and eight-year NFL wide receiver whose impressive leaping ability earned him the nickname "Alley Oop" and helped popularize the basketball phrase, died Sunday at age 77.
