The NBA Finals featured a pivotal Game 6 last night as the Miami Heat look to go up three games to one against the Oklahoma City Thunder as no team in NBA history have come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the title and with that said, the series, by all account is over as the Heat fired back from a 17 point 1st quarter deficit to outlast the Thunder 104-98 as LeBron James notch a double-double with 26 points and 12 assists

The Ladies of the B-Ball Court had two games that tipped off last night as the Indiana Fever was defeated by the Connecticut Sun 88-85 in overtime as Kara Lawson netted 22 points and the New York Liberty demolished the Atlanta Dream 73-60 as Cappie Pondexter put up a double-double.

There was one game on diamond in College World Series as the UCLA Bruins tomahawked by the Florida State Seminoles 4-1 to oust the Bruins from the series.

There were a plethora of games on the diamond in Major League Baseball with  seven Interleague games in American League stadiums starting with the Cincinnati Reds lost to the Cleveland Indians 3-2 in 10 innings as Asdrubal Cabrera launched a 2 run walk off homer, the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals was defeated by the Detroit Tigers 6-3, the Atlanta Braves halted the New York Yankees 10 game winning streak 4-3, the Miami Marlins came up 2 runs short 7-5 to the Boston Red Sox as Big Papi belted his 17th homer of the season, while the Chicago Cubs picked up the one run win over the Chicago White Sox 2-1, the San Francisco Giants were literally spanked by the LA Angels 12-5 with Albert Pujos going yard and the LA Dodgers were SHUT OUT  by the Oakland A’s 3-0.

For your NBA Quick Dribbles, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was in Alabama on Tuesday consulting Dr. James Andrews as he continues to rehabilitate his surgically repaired knee, according to sources familiar with the situation, the National Basketball Coaches Association selected Riley as this year's recipient of the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award, which commemorates the former Detroit coach's life in basketball and his "standard of integrity, competitive excellence and tireless promotion" of the game, Dwayne Wade has asked a Chicago judge to suspend his ex-wife's right to visitation with their two children after a weekend incident that delayed the boys' return to his custody and led to her arrest, and finally, Ramon Sessions chose against exercising the final year of his contract to stay with the LA Lakers next season and will explore the free-agency market, but indicted the Lakers made it clear they want him back.

There was one lone National League game in the Major League Baseball last night as the Colorado Rockies were clobbered by the Philadelphia Phillies 7-2 as Cole Hamels notched his 10th win, the Texas Rangers dominated the San Diego Padres 7-3 as Adrian Beltre launched his 12th homer of the season, the Tampa Bay Rays won by a run 5-4 over the Washington Nationals with a homerun from Carlos Pena, but the drama unfolded when Rays reliever Joel Peralta was for having pine tar on his glove, the Minnesota Twins were hammered by the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-2 with 3 hits from Andrew McCutchen, while the Baltimore Orioles were SHUT OUT and blasted by the New York Mets 5-0 as Lucas Duda belted a homer, the Kansas City Royals SHUT OUT the Houston Astros 2-0 with the help of Billy Butler’s 13th homer of the season and the Toronto Blue Jays unleashed 10 runs over the Milwaukee Brewers 9 as Jose Bautista belted 2 homeruns.

In sporting news, the Big Ten Conference and Ivy League have launched their own individual studies on concussions, but on Tuesday, the two conferences joined forces and announced a co-sponsored research partnership on concussions and other head injuries.  Both conferences will have athletes to volunteer to be evaluated and neurologists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, sports medicine specialist from both conferences will participate in the evaluations of the athletes during after their playing careers. 

After ESPN filed suit in July against Ohio State University, the Ohio Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the university in the open records lawsuit.  ESPN was denied requests from Ohio State for more documents involving the 2011 investigation of former football coach Jim Tressell, Terrelle Pryor and Pryor’s former mentor, Ted Sarniak.  The court ruled the school had correctly used the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act after initially stating they violated open record laws. 

For your London Summer Olympic News, the International Gymnastics Federation announced simplified tie-break formulas Tuesday that again allow for the possibility of shared medals, Cassidy Krug moved closer to making her first Olympic diving team when she finished first in the 3-meter springboard semifinals at the U.S. trials on Tuesday night, five Cuban players who recently arrived for an international basketball tournament in Puerto Rico are missing, the president of the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation said Tuesday and thinks they have defected, and finally, South Africa's Institute for Drug-Free Sport says Comrades Marathon winner Ludwick Mamabolo has tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine and could face a two-year ban and be stripped of his title if found guilty by an independent tribunal.

For your NFL Quick Hits, a day after New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees tweeted an analogy comparing the NFL's bounty investigation to weapons of mass destruction, Brees clarified his comments and stated in part “I have an extreme respect for our military and have not nor will I ever compare football to war”, the NFL released more evidence showing a clip on the sidelines of the New Orleans Saints and Anthony Hargrove saying “give me my money” after he knocked Brett Favre out of the game however, Hargrove says that wasn’t his voice, safety Michael Griffin and the Tennessee Titans have agreed to a five-year extension and deal is believed to be worth $35 million with $15 million guaranteed, former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf could spend 15 months locked down in Montana, first in a secure drug treatment facility and then in a pre-release living center as part of a judge's sentence following Leaf's guilty plea for breaking into a house and illegally possessing painkillers, and finally, Tim Tebow was selected the winner of the 2012 Good Guy Award by the Pro Football Writers of America.

Alistair Overeem, who is currently ranked the #3 heavyweight in the world in Mixed Martial Arts, may not fight on UFC’s annual year-end card scheduled for December 29.  Alistair, who is currently serving a nine-month suspension for his admission of injecting a substance that he was unaware contained testosterone, must re-apply with the Nevada State Athletic Commission when he is eligible on December 27 and be granted his license prior to UFC promoting him.  According to UFC co-owner, Lorenzo Fertitta, they are reluctant in promoting an Overeem fight since there are not guarantees he will be granted his license.
