Kasey Kahn wins at
New Hampshire
Major League Baseball was back will a full slate of games over the weekend and Sunday was no different as the American League had 7games on the diamond and the LA Angels avoided the three game sweep by the New York Yankees with a score of 10-8 as Mark Trumbo’s belted his 24th homer, the Cleveland Indians were SHUT OUT by the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 with 8 strikeouts from Carlos Villanueva, the Detroit Tigers SHUT OUT  and crushed the Baltimore Orioles 4-0 as Justin Verlander bounced back from his horrible All Star start and struck out 8 batters, the Boston Red Sox pummeled the Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 with a homerun from Mike Aviles, while the Chicago White Sox got by the Kansas City Royals 2-1 as Adam Dunn belted his 24th homer, the Oakland A’s blasted the Minnesota Twins 9-4 as four A’s launched homeruns and the Texas Rangers SHUT OUT and destroyed the Seattle Mariners 4-0 as Matt Harrison pitched a complete game and is tied for the most wins in the AL with 12.
Denny Hamlin and his crew chief had a bit of disagreement on many tires to change and with that confusion, Kasey Kahn took advantage of the miscommunication and went on to capture the checkered flag at New Hampshire in the Sprint Cup Series, his second win of the season while Hamlin came in 2nd, Clint Boyer 3rd, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. continues to run strong with a 4th place finish and Brad Keselowski round out the top five finishers.  In the Nationwide Series however the aforementioned Keselowski captured the checkered the flag when he slipped in front of Kevin Harvick who was entangled in traffic jam, finished 2nd and Austin Dillon came in 3rd.
The John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL with a purse of $4.6 million dollars experienced some extra playing time on Sunday thanks to a sudden death play-off between Troy Matteson and Zach Johnson as Matteson needed a top five finish to qualify for the British Open, but it was Johnson to notch the win with a birdie on the second hole with a 20 under par, with Matteson finishing 2nd, Scott Piercy 3rd and John Senden came in 4th.
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, with a sign-and-trade deal that will that send point guard Raymond Felton back to the New York Knicks and send power forward Jared Jeffries to the Portland Trailblazers, this could be the end of the Linsanity Train as the Knicks, according to sources will not match the Houston Rockets offer sheet that will pay Lin $25 million dollars over three years, but most importantly, pay him close to $15 million in the third year of the contract, but will the luxury tax ramifications, the Knicks will shell out double, almost $30 million in the third year, the Phoenix Suns have won the amnesty auction for former Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola, the Minnesota Timberwolves have submitted a four-year, $46 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Nicolas Batum and the Portland Trail Blazers now have three days to match the offer, former North Carolina center Brendan Haywood has been claimed by the Charlotte Bobcats, who was amnestied by the Dallas Mavericks, the Brooklyn Nets have agreed to terms with C.J. Watson, the team announced Saturday night as Watson's two-year contract is worth the veteran's minimum, Ray Allen took out a newspaper ad thanking Boston fans for his past five seasons with the Celtics after joining forces with the Miami Heat, Kyrie Irving, the NBA's reigning rookie of the year, broke his right hand during the Cleveland Cavaliers' practice on Saturday in Las Vegas and finally, New York Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was arrested early Sunday and charged with a misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated…now how much does a driver cost?  Probably less than the $3 million he is getting paid by the New York Knicks….dude and everybody…..DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.  More is at stake than YOU!

Keke Vandeweghe, longtime member of the NBA has a niece named Coco, sounds like a the family has a thing for two syllable, two word first names however comma I digress but it doesn’t as she got the no no against Serena Williams in Bank of the West Classic as Williams easily handled Vandeweghe in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 as Williams captured her 43rd tour win which ties her sister Venus.
Going into the fight, Amir Khan was the big time favorite, but Danny Garcia came up with the big time TKO in the 4th round to remain undefeated and promptly added a WBA title belt to go along with his WBC title belt and in non-title heavyweight bout in London, David Haye and Dereck Chisora renewed their bitter battled this in the ring versus at a press conference and Haye wasted no time and provided a left hook that KNOCKED OUT out Chisora in the 5th round in all British brawl.
Portland, OR had the MMA lights shining upon them on Saturday night as Luke Rockhold got the unanimous win against Tim Kennedy to retain his Strikeforce belt.
For your London Summer Olympics news, Britain's Olympic security plans fell under fresh scrutiny Sunday, with a newspaper reporting that several people on a terror watch list have been waved through airport border controls without being flagged and officials trying to calm the uproar over a security contractor's failure to provide its promised number of staff, Kuwaiti athletes will be allowed to compete under their country's flag at the London Games as the International Olympic Committee suspended Kuwait in 2010 because of political interference, and finally, after it was reported last week that American uniforms were made in China, it was announced that for the 2014 Winter Games, the American uniforms will made in the USA….why are we even having this conversation…..huh?!
For your NFL Quick Hits, Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil and another man were arrested Saturday night in Miami Beach and faces a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, which court records show is a third-degree felony and wide receiver Mike Williams has been released by the Seattle Seahawks two weeks before the start of training camp.

Penn State's Board of Trustees
refuse to step and of course
laying blame on someone else
As The Freeh Report continues to be discussed, Penn State’s Board of Trustees in private was furious on the way they were portrayed in the report and the report blamed the trustees for the culture of secrecy and deference of the university’s leaders concerning the Jerry Sandusky case.  The call for some or all of the boards 32 trustees to resign have been met with opposition from the board and the board is squarely laying blame and anger toward ex-board chairman Steve Garban, who failed to notify the board collectively on Sandusky in April of 2011 when he was informed.  As I stated during the unfolding is this awful, awful mess, I stated the some or all members of the board knew something and they should be held accountable for their lack of action.

The NHL's labor negotiations started last week with the league making its first collective bargaining offer asking the union to take a 19-percent reduction in total hockey-related revenues, from their current 57 percent to 46 percent, limit contract lengths to five years, while forcing players to accrue 10 seasons, regardless of age, before becoming an unrestricted free agent, they are also looking to eliminate signing bonuses and make salaries the same for every year of the contract, in addition, the deal would eliminate salary arbitration and would extend entry-level contracts by two years, from three to five, now that Kevin Youkalis has been traded to the Boston Red Sox to the Chicago White Sox, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine placed the onus for his strained relationship with Kevin Youkilis on the former Boston infielder Sunday morning, a Sunday X-ray checkup taken Sunday on Andy Pettitte's left ankle were "good," the New York Yankees left-hander said, and finally, Baltimore Orioles pitcher Jason Hammel will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday and is expected to be out for at least a month.
