Major League Baseball had seven games on the diamond in the American League last night as the Tampa Bay Rays outlasted the Baltimore Orioles 3-1 as Jeremy Hellickson notched his 1st win in 10 starts, the Detroit Lions got past the Cleveland Indians 3-2, the Oakland A’s walloped the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 as Dereck Norris launched a homerun, the Boston Red Sox avoided the sweep and got past the Texas Rangers 2-1 as Mike Aviles broke the tie in the 9th, while the Minnesota Twins were literally spanked by the Chicago White Sox 11-4 as Adam Dunn belted his MLB leading 30th homerun, the Kansas City Royals defeated the LA Angels 4-1 as Lorenzo Cain went yard and the New York Yankees lost 4-2 to the Seattle Mariners as Michael Saunders belted his 10th homer, but Alex Rodriguez broke his left hand from a pitch from Felix Hernandez in the 8th inning.
The final tune up game before the start of the London Games played on yesterday as USA Men’s Basketball took on the team that most figure they would face in the gold medal round, but also give them their biggest challenge as they battled Spain as the game was close until Team USA opened things up in the 2nd half and took control for good as they routed Spain 100-78 behind Carmelo Anthony’s 27 points.
  
For your NBA Quick Dribbles, in the ongoing Dwight Howard saga, the Orlando Magic have told rival executives that they might not trade their superstar center after all, according to league sources, the Chicago Bulls will not match the Houston Rockets' three-year, $25.1 million offer to Omer Asik, the team announced via its website Tuesday morning, New Orleans Hornets first-round draft choices Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers have signed their rookie contracts as Davis received a three-year guaranteed contract worth a little more than $16 million and Rivers received a three-year guaranteed deal worth nearly $5.9 million, free agent guard Delonte West and the Dallas Mavericks have reached terms on a new contract, according to sources close to the process, the Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired forward Dante Cunningham from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for guard Wayne Ellington, swingman Ronnie Brewer will be joining the New York Knicks, according to his agent, Henry Thomas and the deal is reportedly a one-year contract and likely for the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million and the Knicks also have signed Pablo Prigioni, the point guard for Argentina's national team, the Washington Wizards signed free agent guard A.J. Price on Tuesday, and finally, backup combo-guard Keyon Dooling is returning to the Boston Celtics on a one-year deal.

The National League in Major League Baseball had eight games under the lights as the Milwaukee Brewers lost by a run against the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 as the Phillies withstood 4 homers from the Brewers, the Chicago Cubs blasted the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-1 with the 19th homer from Alfonso Soriano, the Washington Nationals knocked off the New York Mets 5-2 as Adam LaRoche went yard for the 17th time, the Atlanta Braves eked out a one run win against the Miami Marlins 4-3 as Jason Heyward drove in 2 RBI’s, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Houston Astros 4-2 as Drew Stubbs launched a homerun, while the LA Dodgers were demolished by the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 as Rafael Furcal drove in 3 RBI’s, the Colorado Rockies were pummeled by the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2 as Chris Young launched a homer and the San Diego Padres lost by run to the San Francisco Giants 3-2 as Madison Bumgarner struck out 9 batters.
For your London Summer Olympic News, Serena Williams says she feels "really good" and is ready to go for another title at Wimbledon, Brazil's starting goalkeeper Rafael has been ruled out of the men's Olympic squad after injuring his right elbow in a practice session just two days before the team's opening match, world vault champion McKayla Maroney's sore right foot is getting a break and Sam Mikulak's balky left ankle is getting a workout, but both plan to be ready when the Olympics begin Friday, and finally, World Anti-Doping Agency President John Fahey on Tuesday announced the results of a program designed to test athletes under suspicion before they arrived in London and more than 100 athletes have been kept out of the London Olympics because of doping suspensions.

The ‘B’ sample landed him an ‘E’ and the stands for ‘end’ of the road as AJ Allmendinger was suspended by NASCAR indefinitely as his B sample results were the same as the original drug test result.  With the B sample results, Allmendinger can either enter into NASCAR’s Road to Recovery program that will start the process of reinstatement or he can seek legal action to attempt to discredit the test.  In the meantime, Penske Racing announced Sam Hornish, Jr. will drive the #22 car this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
