Usain Bolt & Sonya Richards-Ross Are Golden, Medal Count, AL-MLB & Oscar Pistorius: 8/6, Vol. 201, 1st Edition

There's no question of Your greatness, no searching of Your power. All the wonder of Your glory, to You forty years is but one hour. Your knowledge is all encompassing, Your wisdom there is no end; for You alone are God, You are God alone!  Good morning and welcome back to Spiritual Sports Segment on Rhema on Gospel Radio better than when you it last week, I’m C.E.E.J.A.Y!  Let’s Get It Started!

Usain Bolt retains his crown
as world fastest man!
What a weekend for the 2012 London Olympics as there were plenty of action and if you missed any of it, catch my Saturday/Sunday Sports Segment from the weekend at for highlights.  Track & Field was jammed pack with action as starting with the Men’s 100m Final as Usain Bolt was questioned coming into the race and he answered resoundly with a scorching fast pace of 9.63 to become the second only man next to Carl Lewis to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals and after winning Bolt stated "Means a lot, because a lot of people were doubting me. A lot of people were saying I wasn't going to win, I didn't look good. There was a lot of talk…….it's an even greater feeling to come out here and defend my title and show the world I'm still No. 1, I'm still the best."  With a star studded field, his fellow countryman and training partner Yohan Blake took 2nd place with a 9.75 time and American Justin Gatlin place 3rd with a 9.79 and everyone broke the 10 second mark with the exception of Asafa Powell who pulled up due to a groin injury.
Sonya Richards-Ross finally
get her gold!
A golden dream was derailed and deferred at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but came to fruition last night in the Women’s 400m as Sonya Richards-Ross gave the US its first gold in Track & Field and after winning gold that she was supposed to win four years Richards-Ross stated “What I have learned is you don't win the race until you win the race…..I knew I had to cross the finish line first to call myself the Olympic champion.”  Now that she has won gold, it will go along nicely with two Super Bowls rings her husband Aaron Ross won and the most recent one was with the New York Giants.  In addition, American DeeDee Trotter, who had her face sprinkled in red, white and blue placed third for bronze.
As the 2012 London Olympics wrapped up another weekend of events, the medal count continues as China now only has one medal lead over the United States as China has 30 gold, 17 silver and 14 bronze for a total of 61, while the United States has 28 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze for a total of 60 and the host country Great Britain is third with 37.
For your London Olympic News, Germany won the bronze medal in the men's fencing, beating the United States 45-27 in the final fencing event at the Olympics, Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee sprinter said he's setting his sights on Rio de Janeiro in 2016 after finishing last in his 400-meter semifinal at the London Games on Sunday night, and finally, Hamid Soryan of Iran won an Olympic gold medal Sunday in men's 55-kilogram Greco-Roman wrestling event becoming the first Iranian to do so.
Major League Baseball had a full slate of games on the diamond with seven games in the American League as 10 innings were needed to decide the game between the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers as Miguel Cabrera unleashed a 5 run rally in the 10th to give the Tigers the 10-8 victory, the Seattle Mariners were bombarded by the New York Yankees 6-2 with Rual Ibanez going yard, the Baltimore Orioles SHUT OUT the Tampa Bay Rays in 10 innings 1-0, while the LA Angels was defeated 4-2 by the Chicago White Sox with A. J. Pierzynski’s 21st homer, another 10 innings of ball was needed as the Texas Rangers lost by a run to the Kansas City Royals 7-6 with errors by Alberto Gonzalez and Mike Olt to help the Royals and the Toronto Blue Jays eked out a one run win against the Oakland A’s 6-5 with a homer from Edwin Encarnacion.
