PGA w/ Rory McIlroy, LPGA, NL-MLB, NASCAR, UFC 150 & MLS Scores & Results: 8/13, Vol. 206, 2nd Edt'n

The 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island Resort with a purse of $8 million cool dollars witnessed two veterans Vijay Signh and Tiger Woods, who either lead or co-lead at some point during the tournament, to completely fell apart and finished tied for 39th and tied for 11th respectfully as the young buck in Rory McIlroy was bogey free over the final 23 holes and capped off his PGA Championship win with by a record of 8 strokes and finished with a 12 under par and became the youngest player since Seve Ballesteros to win two majors.  Other players that were left in McIlroy’s dust were David Lynn finishing 2nd with a 5 under par and three others tied for 3rd with a 4 under par.
The ladies were putting around the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic in Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, OH with a purse of $1.3 million dollars and the tournament was not a competition as So Yeon Ryu ran away with the win with a 20 under par, while Angela Stanford finished a distant 2nd with 13 under par and Chella Choi finished one back at 12 under par.
The National League was balling on Sunday as the LA Dodgers SHUT OUT and fish fried the Miami Marlins 5-0 as Chris Capuano fanned 10 batters, Juan Pierre’s 11th inning walk off RBI gave the Philadelphia Phillies the victory over the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals 8-7, the Pittsburgh Pirates demolished the San Diego Padres 11-5 as Clint Barmes delivered a Grand Slam, the  Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros 5-3 with the 22nd homer from Corey Hart, while the Cincinnati Reds SHUT OUT the Chicago Cubs 3-0 with Jay Bruce’s 22nd homer, the Colorado Rockies lost 9-6 to the San Francisco Giants with Hunter Pence’s 3 run homer, the Washington Nationals also lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4 as they end the Nationals 8 game winning streak and the Atlanta Braves lost by one run 6-5 to the New York Mets as Jordany Valdespin hit a homer.

Watkins Glen Road Course was tamed for the 2nd year in a row by Marcos Ambrose as the final lap was oil slick, banging duel between Ambrose and Brad Keselowski as the oil had leaked from the #47 car of Bobby Labonte that caused Kyle Busch who had controlling lead, hit the oil and that opened the gate for the banging duel.  With Ambros & Keselowski finishing 1 & 2, Jimmie Johnson rolled into 3rd, while Clint Bowyer placed 4th and Sam Hornish, Jr. round out the top five finishes. 
The Sprint Cup Points Standings experienced a shift as Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fell from the top spot to 4th while Jimmie Johnson’s 3rd place finish catapulted him to the #1 spot with Greg Biffle 1 point behind and Matt Kenseth only two points behind at 3rd.
The Nationwide Series at Watkins Glen International witnessed Brad Keselowski finished 22nd in this race as well as Carl Edwards took the checkered flag on his first Nationwide start of the season and Sam Hornish, Jr. finished 3rd.

Denver, CO had a controversy on their hand Saturday night at UFC 150 when it pitted defending champion Benson Henderson against Franki Edgar as their match went five hard fought rounds as two judges scored in favor of Henderson 48-47, while another judge had Edgar winning all but one round in a fight that was too close to call.  And when Henderson was announced the winner, who is a native of Colorado, the fans unleashed their displeasure with a series of boos.
Major League Soccer had three games last night as the New England Revolution was SHUT OUT 1-0 against the Montreal Impact, the Philadelphia Union lost to the Chicago Fire 3-1 and Chivas USA was SHUT OUT and destroyed by the LA Galaxy 4-0.
